Imprisoning people for nothing...that's wrong in my book, especially if its due to a factless cop story

If this is true then fair enough. But do you have evidence of this?

    No

But there is proof that the police are not to be trusted so I cannot grudge FAC raising funds for a defence of these fans

Some police over stepped the mark. Big time. Doesnt mean some fans didnt also overstep the mark.

There must be a case against them for the courts (note not the police) to keep them there for a trial. To say the police have fabricated a story and fake evidence to keep some scottish kid in prison as some kind of retribution is unlilely imo. Why wpuld a copper risk their careers to do this.

If they wanted to give them a hiding and get away with it they would have let them go....not keep them? ......my opinion only on the issue

i am happy to sit on the fence and see how this one plays out. I have seen all the comments on twitter about how the celtic fans are 100% innocent and it is all on the police. I feel that it is extremely unlikely to be the case.

However, I do not have an issue with the association raising funds on behalf of the two kids. Nobody is forcing you to dip into your pocket, if you do not want to donate don't. I do not see why anyone would get their arse out because a fund has been set up.

plain clothes cops are always ****ing arseholes, either jobsworths looking to move up the chain or beelin bitter ****s who are stuck chasing kids for drinking on a friday, any of the decent ones who are involved in serious crime wouldnt be caught on camera beating football fans and thats a FACTO

they aint the first to get a beating and the jail for **** all, if thats the case, and they wont be the last, thats why the polis are known as the scum

Are you for real, police everywhere have beaten up, shot dead, arrested take your pick
innocent people and then the police in numbers make up their stories to ensure that they
are rarely caught . It takes the very best barristers to break their stories . I didn't
believe that there was anyone alive , that doesn't know about the Met police , the
Policing of the miner's strike. Sheffield tragedy plus the hundreds of cases in the wee
six where the police and British Army colluded with loyalists or else did the murdering
themselves . Why not the Dutch police. Why are the two held ? Possibly because they
have been beaten up so much, the Dutch Authorities wanted to keep them out of the
public eye, to prevent the wrong questions answered .
Anyone who has a few spare pence, should seriously think of giving something to
help their defence. It will of course be a private donation .

Only problem is that if they don't have legal defence , and a good one at that they won't have
a chance of proving their innocence .

I think that is a very good idea Pud , those poor people need all our help.
I think the Celtic fans who attend matches may also try to find some money to
help the Celtic fans caught up in the Amsterdam fiasco.

Yeah those match attenders are a different breed alright, im sure they will have the empathy non football match attenders lack and will see to it that these poor innocent kids are returned to their worried families.

would be interesting to see how many other away european ties the arrested have been to, to find out whether they are just supporting the team or if they went for a piss up and a party

Pud, not attending matches means you have lost all this one big happy family ,
what makes Celtic fans unique is the way we help each other out , where I come
from , if a Celtic fan falls on hard times we don't cross the road to get away , but
we go to see if we can help. Surely if your hard earned cash is soo important to
you that , you don't want to give the Celtic fans a chance to prove that they are not
guilty beyond doubt, then of course you should not give it . God forbid that you
could actually help Celtic fans .

It goes without saying that most of us , if not all of us feel sorry for those caught
up in disaster ......homeless, orphaned , starving ......and your point is .....?

I can almost guarantee that pretty much every European tie we go to 2 (or maybe more) get arrested.......Should start a Celtic in Europe #bringthemhome fund. would have some money in the pot in advance

On average, eight or nine tropical storms make landfall in the Philippines each year.

Eight of the top 10 deadliest cyclones to hit the Philippines had a death toll reaching between 1,000 and 2,000 people.

Should they have started a #justincase fund too?

Or is it more likely that people will respond to the individual circumstances of each individual event?
