No one wants to be Hull Tigers, and Dr. Allam says he's willing to listen to alternative ideas if the fans can come up with any. So lets get some suggestions and see what he has to say.

    1. Increase ticket prices. We're currently paying championship prices for premier league football. Do you want to keep the name enough to pay more for your priveledged to watch the tigers?

    2. Encourage the club to sell our promising young starlets for good money. Sort of counter productive as the reason to generate more revenue is to increase success on the pitch, but if we can get good money for our youngsters and replace them with more numbers of adequate quality for less it may work.

    3. Focus on our youth system. This will take years to achieve, but if we can generate quality in numbers like Southampton for example, it cuts the need for higher revenue.

    4. Cut down on overheads. I believe Dr. Allam has been vigilant in this, but if there's anywhere to make a saving by cutting something non essential it helps reduce the amount of revenue needed.

    5. Focus campaigning efforts towards getting the council to take Allams proposal seriously. I believe this would require getting the RL fans on side.

There's plenty of ways we could generate more income with local promotion or offers. Maybe te club could hold pay to enter sports tournaments or something, I'm sure someone can think of good ideas.

Lets keep this one on topic, there's plenty of threads discussing the name change and Allams credibility, no need for another.

Assem Allam: Leave this to me. Nobody interferes in how I do my job. Leave it to me.

Let's kidnap Ehab and send Mr Allam one of his fingers per week until he drops the name change shizzle.

    Carmine?

He also said that he believes changing the name is the best way to increase income and if somebody has a better idea, he will listen.

So many people opposing the change without any alternative ideas. After reading David Conn's article about our financial situation I'm afraid he's right in that we DO need more revenue to sustain our level of football.

Another idea, considering we have so many marketing experts on here, surely between you all you an sit down and devise a global marketing strategy that doesn't include a name change? I think this and point 1 in my original post are the only realistic ideas so far.

I liked Allam's ideas for the KC when he was trying to buy it. Investment into the city should be encouraged and most clubs own their own stadiums.

However, I can't help but feel that we're pawns involved in the blackmail of the council.

I think the council should be willing to sell the KC for the right price/conditions, but I don't like this whole '... if I could have the stadium, the fans can keep the name as it is', leaving us to put pressure on the council. I do remain grateful for the Allams, but this doesn't sit well.

I've personally sat down and done this with the club. I'm not a marketing expert, I just know that successful businesses advertise and make people aware of their product. Even as a massive fan I only know when our next game is from checking myself. The club don't advertise matches, tickets or anything. They don't try to sell the club to new fans. There are a small number of people in the area who go to games. We need to increase that number dramatically but we can't get through to new fans. The people who don't already go to City don't find out. Facebook isn't enough to get through to new fans who obviously won't follow the club - yet.

Another one, Arsenal own lots of homes which they rent (and I believe) small businesses. If the club could invest in similar infrastructure in hull, that would generate very handsome income.

An excellent thread but no one wants to post on it. Far easier to call Allam a **** isnt it.

Are we just ignoring the points raised by myself, Macca and Mac3 then?

Bob - Carmine left of his own accord. I only know because he asked me to delete his account. I have no idea what happened to Payton.

It doesn't need a radical idea. It just needs some basic business principles applying to it. He's always bragging about his 'sounds business principles' yet his company doesn't engage in any sort of marketing and he thinks it needs new ideas to make money. Get the basics done first and see where it gets us. The KC shouldn't be big enough for us.
