This is what you youngsters missed. I'm not expecting to start a discussion but comment if you were part of that crowd or post a smiley if you bothered watching the vid.
Lifted off your feet in those crowds and carried down! Ive been at some gigs like that Where you in the crowd?
Great to see,I was to young at that time to remember it but my dad spent alot of time at Anfield in his younger days and has told me a tale or two. Nice one jb
before my time sadly, was born in 75. i only seen past clips and memories on lfctv when they show them, we used to look quite posh in shirt and ties and well behaved, what the **** went wrong lol. anyone on here old enough to remember Billy Liddle and should i put him in the best all time Liverpool team ( i only picked players i had seen but heard he was a genius)
I was very young when Liddell played for Liverpool so never saw him play. Definitely a club legend, a one-team man, only ever played for Liverpool.
Bit before my time JB but I love that vid Love the Harry Enfield style commentary too. My first ever game was 1982/83 season, Liverpool vs Coventry sitting in the Kemlyn right next to The Kop....I was gobsmacked by the noise and the sights of all those people (my Dad reckons I didn't watch much of the game ) Here's the team from that day: Grobbelaar, Neal, Kennedy, Thompson, Johnston, Hansen, Dalglish, Lee, Rush, Lawrenson, Souness Manager: Sir Bob Final score was 4-0....Dalglish (8), Rush 3 (24, 73, 82) and Grobs saved a pen. ...bizarrely it was 31 years ago tomorrow hahaha - 13/11/1982
Thats taken from this video... please log in to view this image ...which I had as a kid and must have watched it over a hundred times! It stopped working eventually please log in to view this image
I'd have loved to have experienced that crowd /atmosphere but I'd have hated being penned in like that.
Don't know where mine is; even though it didn't work properly, I'd have intended to keep it as a keepsake. I've tried to find it to download, even looked for a alternative or newer version but can't find one.
I remember the only game I've ever considered leaving early was the 3-3 vs the manks (very proud of the fact I've NEVER left a game before the final whistle has gone). 3 down after half an hour or whatever I remember turning round and looking back up The Kop and just thinking "No ****ing way can I get out of here" Glad I stayed as Clough banged in the first a few mins later. The swaying crowd was scary and exciting at the same time. Loved the singing - as the commentator said it was amazing how everyone just knew which song and when and all started at the same time. Magic
I refuse to leave any event I've had to pay for early. Even if Liverpool were 8-0 down and getting humiliated, I stay until the end.
