J-Rod to play Welbeck role, and if i remember correctly, Rooney, Lambert and Welbeck had a great understanding in the games against Scotland and Moldavia. As for Lallana, he's beter than anyone else available in the team on that position.

 

I imagine the team against Chile will
be mainly fringe players.
This can work negatively as players look to try and impress and don't work as well as a team.
Hopefully the three saints lads can work together.

I think Nicola's taken it a bit far to get our U21's to pull out here.

Danny Welbeck has just been withdrawn.

 

That will mean Jay Rod will probably play some part against Chile.

 

Could see all three of our boys on at the same time!

 

Considering he was called up specifically as backup to Welbeck, it might even mean he will start.

PS You might regret that week off come World Cup selection time. But never mind.

 

I'd be amazed if Welbeck isn't on that plane.

 

The only way Walbeck wont make the squad is if he injured but I can see Jay Rod being his back up and an impact sub if needed!

 

All JRod can ask is a chance. Lallana looks likely to play. Just leaves Rickie for our hat trick.

In a way it's a bit of a shame that the England squad was announced last Thursday. If it had been Sunday I'm sure it would have included Nat Clyne. Any chance of a late call up..?

I'm sure Lallana and J-rod will start vs Chile. I wonder if Lambert will be saved for an audition against Germany?

As they are friendly fixtures are they likely to call up replacements?
