Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham 2h Spent the last hour with Assem Allam. He believes only a vocal minority against the rebranding of the club. Amber Nectar ‏@Amber__Nectar 19m @PJBuckingham 78% against in HDM. 99.6% of HCSS. 78% of AN against. 90% of Tigers Co-op against. 80% of CI against. Odd sort of minority... Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham 50s @Amber__Nectar I put the results of our survey to him. He said that was "a majority of a minority." He's ****ing lost it completely.
Look back in Amber - I can only repeat what I said before. Anyone who does the stupid stuff Allam has done will be open to criticism for it. If it's okay to criticise the manager and players who've done nothing wrong, why not Allam? He doesn't care enough about any of us to call me or anyone else a ****er and he probably doesn't know how to use the Internet to do it on here, although he does recognise its value for scouting new players on Wikipedia. But as I haven't taken over a football club which is a big part of his life and started ruining it, I think the circumstances are rather different.
.............and what about the HUGE amount of money he has thrown away to save OUR club from extinction?
PLT, use this as your homework on 'how to make a coherent point gracefully' ^ Edit:- and I support every last word of it
He's not ruining the club. Unless you class saving it from liquidation with heavy investment, further investment on the pitch and coaching staff resulting in success AND promotion to the premier league as ruining the club? He has done a lot for this club already, and he'll do a lot more I'm sure. Shortening the name isn't ruining it, it's a difference of opinion between us and him. Ruining it would be selling off all the players, pocketing the cash and locking us out of the stadium. I can't see that happening any time soon.
If he gets his way OUR club no longer exists so he's saved us from nothing. You're right, he's not ruining the club - he is making it extinct.
Assem Allam said this morning that the Clubs registered name was "Hull City AFC The Tigers". Is that correct?
Err. Yes it does? Or do you suggest he's planning on liquidating it and starting afresh from the bottom?
No, it's Hull City Tigers Limited' with companies house and 'Hull City' on the FA register(the the FA have a hand written historic register that has us as Hull Cit AFC), though he doesn't seem to realise this.
No, Im saying OUR club is Hull City AFC. Hull Tigers is not our club. I dont understand this. Go on then, if the name isnt the most important part of the club then what is?
I wouldn't say he's thrown it away. I understood he loaned the company money, and is making a return on his investment. As with all investments there is a risk and most investors taking these risks should make sure they can still manage should it go t**s up. I think it's quite probable that should we be in the Premier League next season he could sell it for a profit, hardly throwing money away. Besides, he said he did it as a gift to the people of Hull.
Okay so he saved the club from going under. Brought in a manager like Steve Bruce, Got us to the promise land in less time than we ALL anticpated. Brought in class players. Other than that. What have the Allam's done for us?
