I think even the most ardent Chelsea supporter would agree it was a soft pen. It's the hypocrisy that is annoying. Rooney did exactly the same thing against l'Arse but nothing gets mentioned. The only difference is, in that instance, the ref didn't buy it. And as for Michael Owen on MOTD - are you taking the piss? There is a player who made a career out of going down under the slightest touch.
This is so understated that it is close to being wrong. It was more than soft. It was NEVER a pen even when you watched it in real time. It was the chelsea player making contact with Reid whilst going to ground... If Young was castigated (rightly) for going down easily and conning the referee, then Ramirez should be too... As I said earlier the number of times Chelsea got refereeing decisions in their favour is too incredible to be likely due to chance.
During the season these things even themselves out! In the Times last week there was an article that analysed all disputed refereeing decisions in the Prem since the 1st of January and how they affected the fortunes of each club. In Chelsea's case had the referee given what was considered the correct decision then they would have been 5 points better off! After Saturday I guess that would be now be 3 points, so overall we are still victims of refereeing decisions!
