Whilst we're having a lovely season so far and we should be talking about that, I do have one question for those steering the CTID ship.

Have the bandwagoners we already have from abroad, notably at the moment in Egypt, been made aware of the campaign in any way?

The chances of them caring when they have bigger problems with their own leaders at home are slim; however as has been said bandwagoners actually seek success and history more than any poxy name change. If we tried to get them types onboard though it'd be the clearest indicator that a name change will not bring greater revenue.

Anyone got an Arabic-English dictionary? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

They don't have any interest in our club, their interest is purely in their players.

If you did try to get them onboard, when they're not interested would you count them in the "Not for CTWD" bunch or just ignore them?

I'd avoid it, unless it was very clearly explained to them what the situation was, I wouldn't bother. Hell, they might even start supporting the name change and the overwhelming majority might put us in the shade!

    This ^^.

If you look on any posts that the Club make during a match, most posts from Egyptians are asking why Gedo isn't playing (or something along them lines that involves Gedo).

That's understandable, it's what I do when I look at the Blackburn, Sheff Weds and Charlton line ups, see if Cairney, Fryatt and Stewart are playing. I know if England called up a City player I would me more interested in if they were starting than the rest of the team.

And why would any Egyptians care for (let alone heartily follow & support, let alone take interest in a name change issue for) Hull City anymore than they would for Swansea or Norwich say, if not because we have players in your team? And how exactly does that make us "bandwagoners" seeking success and history ???

No disrepect meant to Hull fans in general. I'm just taking issue with the generally condescending air of the post.

Actually, I don't see any kind of hypocrisy or whatever when you have intersecting support from club fans & national team fans around a certain team. In fact, I've always found these types of online connections very fun as well as informative/enriching to both sides. Normally though, what you should expect from us Egyptians, no more, no less - is first of all good support for your team to do well whenever you have Egyptians in your ranks; otherwise, good but probably less pronounced support for your team as long as from time to time there's still some contact or partnership between the sides (as is now the case with Hull's owners being Egyptians & Hull's coach being Bruce who usually rates Egyptians)... and lastly, even if all the Hull-Egypt ties are gone by next year, I'd say that, on account of having watched Hull play lots of times this past period and wanted them to win, we'll still probably keep feelings of sympathy for the name of "Hull" in the future.

In response to your initial question.... Yes, we're aware in Egypt of the grand lines of your name change problems at Hull but it's not discussed much, if at all, beyond simple news bytes.

its a bit much calling the fans bandwagoners , they follow the players , just like the american football fans who joined our ranks when we had Altidore
They clearly want to see how thier players do in one of the top leagues .
If you remember CH4 started screening italian football when Gazza moved to Lazio - i think we all followed his progress back then
