Evening all. Just back from a stay at Jersey General that started on Friday - first epileptic fits for 15 months. theo, one of the nurses on the ward I was on is from the Philippines but her family are further north than where the typhoon hit.

Sorry Barry that you needed time in hospital again, but glad you are home again. My nephew now has a driving licence, but it took 25 years before they got his medication sorted. There is hope yet. <ok>

Having seen the news about the Philippines I do wonder why people live in areas that suffer from so many natural disasters. How many times have they suffered this year alone? I suppose that some are not able to live elsewhere.

I would suggest that the vast majority of Philippineans (?) could not afford to move elsewhere - likewise Bangladeshis, Haitians, Cubans, Mexicans etc. etc. who all live in the path of hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones.

And given the chance would many opt to move anyway?

Sorry to year your news Barry, I hope the attack wasn't a really bad one.

This photo is going about here, even if it is three years old.

    saturday_night_live_eyjafjallajokull_question.jpg

For one thing there is only one city in Ísland, Reykjavík. And the four towns have errors in spelling.
    Reykjavic is Reykjavík
    Kopavogur is Kópavogur and
    Hafnarfjorour is Hafnarfjördur
    Fjaroabyggo is Fjarðabyggð.

So only Kópavogur is close. And the man looks as if he is being attacked by something very small and very nasty.
