Apologies - I thought you were a City fan.

I'm the first to welcome fans from other boards.

I'm not having a go at anyone. It's the internet for ****s sake.

I'm just genuinely curious as to why you keep coming on name-change threads and telling everyone they're sad, stupid or both for caring about their football club?

The Doctor is a hero. The Doctor shall always be a hero. The FA and premier league are unlikely to give a first **** about the name change, never mind a second. The Doctor saved a lot of face for both governing bodies and English football as a whole by saving one of their members from liquidation as a consequence of relegation from the premier league. He also steered the club away from administration ensuring all creditors were paid in full - a noble deed for sure. They are unlikely to step in his way and prevent him from trying to coin some of that mammoth amount considering the embarrassment he spared them from.

We all know what The Doctor can be capable of when you run afoul of him. If the FA and EPL block his path, what's to stop him from pulling his cash straight out of the club in one go and leaving the club facing liquidation once more, purely in spite of them? It wouldn't surprise me, it's something to bare in mind.

It could be worse, I'd sooner be a Hull Tigers supporter than a Cardiff City Football Club supporter in any shape or form under Vincent Tan. Their fans are coping.

It still sounds ****, and its ever just a bit embarrassing, but I think we'd find more sympathy than ridicule over it all anyway and, to be honest, it's not the end of the world. It's only a name and it's only a game.

I'm totally against the 'Americanisation' of the game ... everything from 'cheerleaders' to music at football matches, it sickens me.

    It's not just football though.

I live in France and, when I come back to the UK, I see young people 'speaking' American slang, dressing like ****e-arsed little gangsters and 'whooping' instead of cheering.

Sadly, for older people who favour tradition, it's a losing battle. Whatever you do it won't won't work if money and power is involved.

Everyone knew what was happening at Portsmouth but, as long as there was enough money swilling around for all the pigs to dip their snout in, it was all ignored.

Talk of boycotts is laughable. Cardiff supporters, or Hull for that matter, won't boycott a winning team or a team in a higher position than usual.
The owners know they have the supporters by the bollocks and will pay lip service to your campaigns and protests because only a tiny minority will actually do anything.

It may make some feel pro-active and courageous to form little campaign groups but it won't do anything but make them feel important.
    In reality they'll accomplish nothing.

My support for my club hasn't faltered in 40 years but these days I choose to ignore everything I can't change and enjoy what I still can.
I couldn't care less about the owner, manager or players.

I support the shirt, the history and the other supporters. When I go to the game I use the same old pubs & working mens clubs, have a few pints with decent people and shout my head off in the ground.

If they want to call my club the Dolphins or the Kestrels I couldn't give a shiney ****e ......... I know what it means to me and they can't ever talk that away from me.

thanks CTWD .,. well done for putting the stamp on our new name.

hint 1 - don't talk to the FA as they have no power this season on us ... (premier league remember) ... they cannot do anything

hint 2 - by turning up (like I said) you are now the fans consultation ... you gave in (as people said) you agreed its about money .. well done .. you are the reason the business name is what it is now .. (yes business name .. that all he was talking about ... jesus Christ) .. if it happens its because of you at the meeting ,.. minimum requirement (without a brown envelope) is 8 people at a meeting discussing it .. no outcome .. no result .. just a meeting taking place ... hope your really proud

But the FA nor the Premier League will not consider it to be fan consultation unless all season ticket holders have a say ffs...

You would know that if you read the last few pages and exactly what the FA and Premier League said.

Fine sentiments, but what if (and this is serious) the owners wanted a super club called Newcastle Red Stripes.

Sorry if I sounded harsh, didn't mean to. Just got home from work and saw all this had exploded again and it made me angry, just had to have a rant. You might be right some people are easily swayed. Maybe that will be AAs way of persuading people too.

But if the Company name is used in place of the playing name, it becomes a separate issue to the that.

He needs to be careful, Hull City AFC have the right to play in the football pyramid, Hull City Tigers doesn't.

Fez, I like what you write, usually. If he had sorted out the Premier League and the FA he would have kept his mouth shut. Put in the application in April and we'd have a new name next season. He'd have issued the season pass applications has soon as we were safe to make sure we'd renew and wait for the heat to die down.

Instead he ignores what the Premier League said, that we are still Hull City, and says the name has already changed. We will see a lot earlier than I anticipated what the FA and the Premier League will do. It may be nothing, in which case the Premier League will look impotent.
