Thought I'd start the daily thread this evening as will be busy all morning and want to put up 2 selections that I believe will run well.

Able Deputy.2.40 Hun. Probably been called more names than me in the past, but don't think this horse is ungenuine and today could be his day.

Sublime Talent.3.20 Sedg. Looks feasibly handicapped and could be more improvement to come this season and 7/1 looks civilised odds to me!

Very nice looking "Junior" bumper at Huntingdon tomorrow with some very nicely bred types, including Alan King's Motivator gelding Smart Motive and Jonjo's Mad Jack Mytton. Also offspring of Oratario, Lucarno and Teofilo on show, reads more like a 2YO maiden over a mile at Newbury <laugh>

Interesting picture of Long Run making a horlicks of a fence during the Charlie Hall. Not sure how SWC stayed on board, never mind hailing a taxi, he's flagging down a London Bus. Lost the reins completely. Great photography.

Despite all his critics he is a decent horseman. Most jockeys would have come off. You could, of course, argue that most jockeys wouldn't have completely lost the reigns.

Stick what you think of Vulcanite tomorrow- apart from the fact he has to overcome a career best to win of his mark?! In the race I do like the Ferguson runner Zuider Zee- seems to be a mass improver and was a good 2nd at kempton last year he looks massively unexposed and capable of running a big race

How he has ran so bloody well for the last 2 years with some big errors is what impresses me about him most! I'm serious when I say I think he'd be a right tough nut to crack in a World Hurdle. His engine is absolutely huge but he knocks the stuffing out of himself. It finally caught up with him in the Charlie Hall.

Has looked out of sorts for a while now Wooly and definitely better chasing than hurdling! I am a Baile Anrai fan and am keen to see how he does for his new yard.

done Baile Anrai, Seedsman, Halo Moon, and Destiny Blue in a L15-- may well have a nice single on the Skelton horse-- scintillating form should never be ignored....

I have not put anything up for a while as have not really been in form since the weather changed at the end of August but I wanted to share one tomorrow as I think it has a great chance at a decent price.

Wolverhampton
6.20 Speightown Kid 7-1

This horse has just changed trainer from Rosemary Ford to Alan Berry, something that should really be in it's favour providing they fancy a crack on their first run. If we presume it's trying it is a must bet horse tomorrow.

The horse was a CD winner this time last year from a mark of 65, tomorrow he runs off of 60. Last time out he was run over 7f and I have no idea why as it's just too far and he does not stay that distance. The run before however he came second to a relatively unexposed horse, the significant horse however was the third who was Powerful Pierre, a horse that went on to win his next three races. The 5th has won since and the 7th who was Rise to Glory has won twice since from 51 and has to re-oppose today from 62.

This is the biggest bookmaking anomaly as they have Rise to Glory at 4-1 and Speightowns Kid at 7-1 yet last time they ran against each other Speightowns finished 3 1/2 lengths in front, tomorrow is 11lb better off and to top it off is drawn 1 compared to Rise to Glory's 12.

Good luck all.

Morning, crew. Hope everyone well. Nothing for me today as nothing particularly appeals. I see though that we race at Huntingdon and Sedgefield. Here’s a quick quiz quest for the great brains on the forum. In 1997 what was transferred from Huntingdon to Sedgefield??? The first correct answer wins a ‘Barney Bonus’.

My eye has been drawn to the first couple of heats at Cheltenham on Sunday. Mr Henderson has entered Lieutenant Miller in the first and West Wizard in the second. Both are in my ‘5 to follow’ (which has already already had a 4/1 winner from just 2 runners) and the former looks very well treated, over timber, off a perch of just 120. Mr Henderson looks set for no messing re the latter and looks set to pitch him into Grade 2 company for his hurdling bow. He doesn’t do that unless they are special and West Wizard just could, could, be the sport’s next ‘big thing’.

Good luck, people.

Speaking of WEST WIZARD ..................
His Bumper win was taking and apparently he's the next big thing from the Henderson camp, which I don't knock
However I think a few people are missing a trick here
I think a lot of you know the record of Nicky Henderson's runners in the Supreme, he's is THE best ever Fest trainer but he's had some losers in the Supreme, Binocular, Darlan, Ameretto Rose, Spirit Son My Tent Or Yours and even the big black aeroplane himself Sprinter Sacre.
I remember when Simonsig was a good thing for the Supreme as he was the quickest thing around, but they switched him to the Neptune, they thought he'd hurdle better when going that touch slower and it's a better race for him as there isn't as much hurly burly - and maybe thinking of what he gets beaten in the Supreme over the years .
As West Wizard is a VERY well backed 8/ shot for the Supreme before he's even jumped a hurdle in public, I think the 25/1 I took at BetFred last night for the NEPTUNE is rather large and come March, could be a shrewd bit of business :)
Thoughts ?

Re Mr Henderson and the Supreme Novices which, yes, he hasn’t won since ’92. If you ever want to see an appalling ride review Mick Fitzgerald’s on Amaretto Rose. Cor blimey...

And while we are at it McCoy hit the front miles, and I do mean miles, too soon when dear old Binocular ran in the race as a 4YO. Not the only time he totally messed it up on Binocular at the Cheltenham Festival either...

I do think though that if West Wizard does prove up to Grade 1 standard and not devoid of speed then the ‘Supreme’ will be his race. 25/1 not a bad quote though as the 'Neptune' would be the only alternative.
