Clearly neither of you watched the game. Its ok, i'll sum it up. Real Madrid did nothing at all until Nani was wrongfully sent off.

They then scored 2 in quick succession.

Chin up Arsenal, you'll beat them in the return game and at the end of the day, the most important thing is being consistent over the course of the season rather than being inconsistent and having one or two good results against a couple of big clubs.

It's different this year. We've beaten the top teams (Spurs, Liverpool, Fulham)... we're just not beating the mid-table filler (United, West Brom).

They murder most teams at home. Away was a different story.

Also the fact we got a draw makes the result that much better. How many english sides claim how amazing they are over getting a result in Spain? They are usually massively outplayed.

Wrong. Nani was correctly sent off. If Fifa assessor Pierluigi Collina siad it was the right decision, that should be good enough for everyone else.

Cheers, I don't think it's a disaster by any stretch of the imagination, we'll pick ourselves up after the international break. We do need a striker though.

You sir get the prize! We pretty much have to play zonal marking or we will end up with an isolation set play, designed by the other team, with Cazorla marking Fellaini or some such rubbish.

I have to say that I agree with you here. I have never understood why this is selected by everyone as the great injustice.

Try and fly through the air, with your feet first, at chest height, in most games and you are getting a yellow. Actually make contact with a player, and you have to think a red is a possibility. The referee was well within his rights. Outside England, where the referee's panel is not stacked with United fans, they are not guaranteed to get the most favourable decision every time.

The whole reaction to this really showed me how biased the referees are towards United in England. United fans have got to the point that they just expect calls, and are outraged if they don't get favouritism from the referees!

I have watched one minute so that is too much :).

But it is a bit difficult talking about these kind of things in England where we don't have the language for it. Although we make fun of the Americans (deservedly) for many things, this kind of crossover from other sports, particularly in tactics/coaching, is an area of interest for me. The Americans are a lot more developed when it comes to this kind of game analysis, but we are at last getting into discussing things like zonal marking etc.

I like the bit when he says they made us look average .

No you didnt , we made ourselves look average ,a lot of poor passing and a good deal of missed chances.

NONE of those had much to do with United.

and ....you are the champions ?

    at home ?

    and ONE nil ?

If anyone was made to look average it was probably you .

Agreed we were really really bad yesterday (for a number of reasons I might add). United weren't great themselves but don't let anyone interfere with the narrative that United are suddenly back as a force because they beat a flu ridden Arsenal (6 players I might add), robbed by injuries and fatigued by our midweek excursions in Germany. Still we should have done better I admit.

Whilst I hate losing, that loss to Utd was probably the least disasterous loss we could have had in that run of games. Much rather that we'd got the points against Liverpool and Dortmund, which we did. Also given some of the horror shows we've had at OT over the last few seasons, we were unfortunate to come away with nothing on sunday.

We didn't really learn anything we don't already know ... we need a clinical striker, I think we'll address it with a loan move in January and then a big name signing in the summer.

You goons are pathetic. All the way up until kick off you were giving it the big bollocks and promising Man Utd a thrashing but now that you've lost the excuses come out.

Young fans? Without a doubt United have the most arrogant young fans, in fact it is the young fans! The older ones are a bit more level headed.

Can you prove you're not talking bollocks Edmund and give me one quote where anybody said we were going to give Utd a thrashing ?
