You wont get £85million for him. Thats like saying United should get £85million for Rooney. Bales transfer has made everyone silly.
That's just your opinion though, at the end of the day that transfer happened so there's nothing to say that it wont happen again.
Erm..... 2009 Ronaldo sells for £80million..... 2013 Bale sells for £85million. So who went for anything close to those two fees in the 4 years between?
To buy one of the best players in the world it may have to happen again, maybe it'll be less but I don't think there is anything set in stone here.
Except hes not, at least not to the tune of £85million. Rooneys also proven, on every stage in club football. Every few years a player goes for an insane amount of money. Some are worth it ( Ronaldo, Zidane, Rio ) while others are not ( Bale, Veron ). In between the fees settle back down to a more sensible level ( expect where the money clubs are involved, but we wont count them in the natural order of things ).
Both instances involved Real Madrid and one of the assumed (just for Bale) best players in the world. Should they come knocking for Luis, same applies. whether we got £85m+ or not is a different matter, that should be our starting price IF we are don't want to sell AND have CL football. As for Rooney and £85m...
You and your fellow supporters are going to be very very disappointed. However if he does go for anything close to that....... imagine what price you will have to pay for a replacement. remember the last time a club over paid substantially for one of your strikers. Who'd you end up with..... and at what cost?
Nice way of trying to say Rooney is as good as Suarez, you know he's not, the whole world knows he's not, Real dont want Rooney, he's fat, inconsistent and scores far far FAR less goals than Suarez. Scoring with Grannies doesn't increase your worth unfortunately for you
Its fair to say Suarez is slightly better at the minute. Few would disagree. Maybe one day Suarez will match Rooneys goalscoring record, or his influence on his club. If he ends up half the player Rooney is by the tim he hangs up his boots he'll have done well
I think the standard of wumming by so called Man United fans on our board has hit an all time low when one of them tries to say Rooney is better than Suarez.
Why am I going to be disappointed? I wanted us to sell him in the summer for £50m, but he didn't go so I'll support him whislt he's wearing the Liverbiard, hence my signature about him
