I think you will have a job on keeping some of your better players in january tbh. With City and Chelsea struggling to meet expectations after busy summers I reckon they will look at Liverpool. No players cup tied will be a big pull. You'll probably hold them off though, unless it gets silly...... which it could well do.
We should try go for Ronaldo to replace Suarez, we could easily start a bring Ronaldo to Liverpool campaign, he nearly went home to Manchester last summer so he might fancy Liverpool.
he is easy the best player in the Prem and has been since last year, that's why so many opposition fans have a problem with him. the fact he's a **** is secondary. all the negative comments and trying to pick holes in his game just cements that fact.
Lets say chelsea offer you 50-60million in january. What happens. As fans of course you will laugh it off. But you dont own the club. FSG do. What will they do? £60million, if spent wisely could make you a better team after all. Of course it could make you Spurs. Chelsea need a striker, badly. they are not afraid to spend **** loads on one in january.
"I think you will have a job on keeping some of your better players in january tbh." That suggests you mean more than just Suarez, hence my response. If someone offers silly money for Suarez then he will probably go, most of us suspect he'll be off next summer regardless of us getting top four or not. However, FSG made a firm stance last summer that the club won't be pushed around, I see no reason for that to change so it would take silly money to see us sell Luis, especially to a rival.
Going by that theory, you could claim that every signal player at every single club club be targets. Maybe a lot of the Man Utd players want to leave? Maybe Rooney and RvP will **** off? Just as much credibility in me saying that as there is in you saying it about Luis, Studge and Ford
except you missed a minor detail. All the players you mentioned from United would be cup tied for Europe. Liverpools are not. They are amongst the best players available who can play both domestic and european football.
And you've equally missed one thing; what does being cup-tied matter to Liverpool Football Club? We've already shown (in the highest order) that we will not bow down to player power, what makes you think we would do it midway through a season because it would help another club out in Europe?
Money, silly amounts of money. Most clubs would do just about anything for it, Liverpool included.... as they have shown in the past
Which applies to every other club too (well, maybe not Man City, Chelsea, PSG, etc). Being cup-tied obviously has an effect but what if the buying club needs additional numbers for their squad? They could use their existing players in Europe and the newbie in domestic competitions, therefore keeping the players fresher.
putting myself in fsg shoes for a sec... January, Liverpool still in top4, would not sell Suarez to anyone other than a foreign team for no less than.... and I'm being serious.... 85m, any prem teams can simply not bother asking. or... January, Liverpool not looking like getting top4, again any Prem teams can **** off, any foreign teams can have him for 85m no less. or.... after the world cup and we have cl football... were keep him if he wants to stay..... if no Cl football after the wc then we sell to real for 150m no probs
