    It's what happened to Jakupovic.

Surely that's a good thing? No one wants to score an own goal, sitter or not!

Bit different. Jak looked alright at first but slowly appeared to get weaker as each match went. Sheff Wed was a massive blow which he never recovered.

A few on here who go to the reserves say he is still poor. That really doesn't help his cause. To be fair to him he didn't do anything wrong in the Spurs cup game though.

He didn't really get much of a chance, I don't think he played again after Stockdale came in. I quite liked Tijani Belaid when he was here, but Pearson didn't rate him much either.

I liked Belaid but he never really got an extended run in the side which he needed.

Same with Pusic the following season. He looked alright.

Pusic has done really well since moving to Norway. He wasn't too bad.

We probably could do with a striker but I don't know why this topic is coming up now, it's not like if we had a decent striker saturday we would have drawn 4-4. We're going to get games like that this season where we take a bit of a beating, plenty of them. It's just one of those things.

I don't think our need for a striker is as bad as in previous seasons. Graham is playing well and Sagbo is scoring whenever he gets a chance. I think we need another Aluko type player who can make something from nothing and unlock a defence. I don't really mind what position he plays just that it's someone who offers us an extra dimension in attack.

I used a lot of cliches there but hopefully it makes sense.

He might as well not have been on the pitch against Southampton.

I said earlier in the season that he was playing his part and I didn't mind him in the team, but I've changed my mind, he looked completely disinterested in the past two games.

I wouldn't go that far. 21 goals in 56 games for 3 different clubs since he left us.

No to Harry Kane and no to Nugent, McCormack would be a maybe for me but could just be another expensive mistake as he's not guaranteed to replicate his Championship goal scoring in the PL. As someone else has said I think Brucie will look/already has looked broad and come up trumps.

Oh and PLT, are you Danny Graham's dad?

McCormack is a classy player though, too good for the championship. He's fast, skilful, agile and knows where *the rectangular thingy with the net is.

Edit: *the goal, is the word I was looking for.

He's not a striker and he has scored 21 in 56 games, I think that's doing very very well.

He hardly was on the pitch. Didn't he get about 15 minutes at the end of a game we were 4-1 down in? I didn't see the game so my posts are based on what I've seen before that of course.

McCormack reminds me of Rooney in a way. Would be happy to see him come in at a fair price.

Think you've just made that up as we were very close to finalising a deal to bring Shane Long here for over 5 million.

Agree with most of this but the "Graham is playing well" is absolutely ludicrous. You must have blinkers on mate. He was atrocious at Southampton, he hardly touched the ball, and as OLM says looked completely disinterested. Doesn't even try to run into space but stands next to his marker and is easy to deal with. Why SB didn't bring Gedo on baffles me. Gedo nearly put the game away at Spurs and represents a real threat but has only had 15 minutes to show it. Yet Graham gets game after game...for NOTHING!!

Sagbo is getting better with every game and was my MOTM at Southampton. We need to bring in Shane Long in January and send Graham back to Sunderland.

He came on at 73 minutes and I can only remember him touching the ball once.

This follows the Spurs game, when he was pulled at half time, after being poor in the first half.

I think we'll probably look abroad again - players in this country (whether they're English or not) tend to be over-valued. It's rare you get a good deal unless the player is out of contract/near end of contract, or the club the player is at is in financial trouble.

From The Championship? Jordan Rhodes is the player I'd like, but I think we'd need another bloke in the Aluko mould in as well.

McCormack? He has a bit of an arrogant attitude, from the tweets of his I've seen, I get the impression he enjoys being a big fish in a small pond at Leeds, with all the limelight on him.

I think finding someone in the Aluko mould will be even harder than the 'goalscorer' position - a player who can unlock defences are rare and cost a lot - The Championship? There is only really Tom Ince who can play the Aluko role to good enough effect (or someone like Zaha on loan?), other than that, there are only the options like Henri Lansbury, Michail Antonio ...or Sako at Wolves?
