Hooper, Austin, Bent etc etc it'll all start again soon as we still need a striker, Sagbo's looking like he could be the business, Gedo may yet prove a point, but after Long's performance yesterday could we still sneak in and get him? Or is there an unknown out there, lower leagues, youngster, what about Harry Kane or Man U's Will Kean?
I'm not sure Long would be any better than what we have here already, in the shape of Sagbo and Gedo.
and of course the mere 4 or 5 million leeds would want is nothing is it? maybe a 5 million punt on troy tempest from watford. its all about money and more importantly, the value we'd get for it. For me, the only proven championship striker who might be 'worth a punt' at the moment is David Nugent. By comparison to the Ings', McCormicks' and other flavours of the month, he wouldn't cost a lot (excluding wages), and he scores goals.
Where did i say McCormacks value was nothing?? I basically added a Striker who could be a realistic target to a Striker thread. Check the Leicester board for there current opinion of Nugent, afew want him dropping due to poor form.
I agree, certainly worth a look. But I'd prefer a proven premiership striker if we're going in mid season. Long looks the best bet in our price range, but I have no doubt that Steve Bruce is already working on someone I've never heard of but who is a better bet!
To be honest Mussie Bruce might not even look in England, didn't he hint he might look abroad again? To be fair Sagbo seems agood signing so why not if we're only gonna get ripped off here.
Agree Tyger a proven Prem Striker would be great, very hard to find for the right price though aren't they.
wouldn't be surprised if we went for a loan deal on Defoe with a possible permanent next summer if we stay up. Either sign up Livermore in January or send Graham back to wonderland. IMO we should do the later.
I'd be looking at a few new faces in January. I've not really been convinced by Figueroa tbh, he's too inconsistent and he'll be brilliant one moment, then ****e the next. Hopefully he'll stick to being good between now and Christmas. A striker is obvious (although if Sagbo keeps up his act we might not need one...), I think either Finbogasson, Kolbeinn Sigþórsson or Phillip Hosiner would fit the bill nicely. I just wonder if we could do with an extra wide player, as our crossing hasn't been brilliant these past few matches (Sunderland game highlighted this).
You should see Sigþórsson's miss from the weekend http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/cricket/9020261/fails-of-the-week-10th-november
It's bad, but wouldn't stop me from wanting him. Aguero missed a sitter for Man City earlier. He's still class.
Oh, I wasn't suggesting you were, I was making a case in point that just because he had a bad miss you shouldn't jump on his back and label him as bad like many people would. Someone will see that, instantly say he's **** and never give him the chance.
