Sad news indeed Warky, I had seats a few rows behind him in Pioneer for a season, had a drink with him a couple of times at h/t...

Sounds like he was a true blue fan who lived and breathed all things Town. It certainly puts things into sharp perspective and I don't mean in any way to sound flippant or disrespectful but at least he died soon after watching his beloved Town win a thrilling football match.

condolences to the family of mr kemp from all at norwich city.

it may be of little consolation, but at least he had been watching and i'm sure enjoying immensely his club, something clearly very close to his heart, when his time came.

may he rest in peace <peacedove>

I agree with some of the guys on TWTD!

A minutes applause before the game against Leicester is the very least we can do to remember a True Blue or the players to wear black armbands.

The club is usually very good in these situations, when prostate cancer took my step-father,(a season ticket holder since time immemorial), some eight years ago, on the request of my mother they donated a Town shirt signed by all the players (that he was buried wearing), and noted his death in the next matchday programme and announced it over the tannoy...

I'm sure that the club will do all they can.

Very sad indeed, but as Warky says, what better way to go than see you super favourite team play an absolute blinder. I wonder how old he was?

As others so rightly commnet, football is actually so much more than 11 ( in my and many others views overpaid) egos strutting their stuff..its more about the rest of us mortals who follow, support, weep, laugh, go thru so many emotions over a lifetime(!), meet amazing friends who you didnt know existed before the whistle goes. Yes, the Club does try to do spomething special on these occasions, and I am sure they will. I used to trundle Sheepshanks Mum around Framlingham around the place as a very young and lovely wheelchair patient. She too died tragically far too young. We used to have animated, passionate chats about the Town - her son was not of course the man and VIP he came to be.

So RIP Kempy...we are all with you in spirit, and with your family, tho most of us, like me, will not perhaps be heading upwards to join you in those Blue Clowds! Have a pint of Adnams on me!<cheers>

This is an excellent post South Coast! A very thoughtful and poignant piece and I would like to agree and share in these heart felt sentiments.

Apparent South Coast he was only in his mid 40s! <yikes> It certainly makes you wonder that life is really so precious and indeed so fragile and can be taken away in a blink of an eye.

    Rep from me!

Going back to the point you make Welly, I should imagine that ITFC will do something before the Leciester game but if not then the 'Ipswich Family' of supporters are also organising a minute's tribute either before or during the game. This is according to the many posts on TWTD! I personally didn't know Kempy but a small tribute to his years of loyal support for the football club should be made and I will be making the trip up to Portman Road for this game.

I would also like to extend my sympathy and condolences to the family and loved ones that he has left behind.

Dear oh dear, that is so sad. Life...and health..as you rightly say is very precious. I am with you all who make any tribute for the man, at PR next match. I can only make about 6 home games a season but always meet smashing types who share our passion. Whatever the result..often miserably underperforming ((!) I always drive back south with a song in my heart, and her-inside always has a late late supper ready!

Incidentally, from the nice photo of Kempy on TWTD he looks a lovely bloke.<ok>
