If I'm being honest, at the end of the day, we have take one game at a time, step up to the plate, remember our game plan, set out our stall, get off to a flier and give 110% to get as many points as we can. We need to get our heads down, play box to box and throw the kitchen sink at the opposition, every player putting in a shift and playing with passion. We must really get ahead early doors and then park the bus, defend with our backs to the wall, put our bodies on the line, put in the hard yards and run the clock down. I, for one, will be over the moon if we can do that. Austin needs to find his scoring boots, take his chances, come up with some clinical finishes and become a real 20-goals-a-season striker. Remember, we have the most passionate fans in the country and the most atmospheric ground. Our fans need to be the twelfth man out there. So come on, let's be having you. There are no easy games in this league. Every game is just 11 v 11. We need to be the team that plays the game the way it was meant to be played. I would love it, just love it, if we managed to win the league this season. My word, that would be really incredible Jeff ... but I will be sick as a parrot if we don't. It's a funny old game, football, but I am sure we are in with a shout of the title. In May I hope that the Gaffer will be able to look back and say that the boys have done good.
It's not over until the fat lady sings Eamon. If we can mix it up, bit of tika -taka, bit of route one, we've a great bunch of lads, real characters, we'll give anyone a game. One game at a time though, lets just focus on the next 90 minutes.
It is a league and yesterday was a good example of making up ground on Leicester. Home form is the key. Was irritated not to win yesterday but it was a valuable away point against a good team. Keep winning at home and the rest will follow.
Eamon, you've done fantastically well with that and with the exception of everything you say wrong, you're absolutely right. There are plenty of games ahead and if we manage to get our noses in front and then not concede, we've got a decent chance.
It's a far cry from small boys playing in the park...isnt it?...jumpers for goalposts...3 and in.... secretly rolling the ball in dog muck...dont they?... mortal fear of parky....don't quote me on that... It's not rocket science...hmm? Put the round leathery thing in the back of the old onion bag.... Trees...are they the lungs of the planet?...is there life on mars?...quite possibly.... marvellous.
Obviously, we've taken the knocks and, hopefully, bounced back but, obviously, there's been a bit of handbags and, hopefully, we can put that behind us now because, obviously, we've a fine bunch of lads in the dressing room and, hopefully, they can keep pulling the results out of the bags because, obviously, they're top, top professionals who, hopefully can keep giving it their all for the rest of the season, innit.
We have to be clinical and finish twice per game. Our defence will rarely leak more than once per game. Simple as that really.
Er.....you know.......we, the group.....er.......are all in this.....er together.....you know........it's make or break.........er.........a real......you know.......6 pointer.
look.i didn't see it from where I was will have to look at the replay not sure if the card was deserved don't call me a ****in wheeler and dealer
Its a simple game made difficult by the blokes that play it innit? I'm mean the lad done well to get the post in but we're just sitting back on hour heels I think we've gotta take the initiative to other teams and we need a few others to chip in with a few goals too Ere Rosie, wheres them brown paper bags?!!
“It’s a squad effort,” he said. “This club has probably been guilty before of relying on certain individuals. But it is a real team effort and I think you can see that in the performances. “There is a long way to go, but it’s a decent start, and we feel that we have yet to fire on all cylinders. But we have been solid and that’s important if you want to do well in this league.” (this was actually said by joey)
