Okay, todays pro's and con's. Pros Sagna - Still a reliable old warrior, put in 2 crosses that should have been converted Gnabry - Made more impression in 9 minutes than any other attacking player did in 90 Cons Giroud goes missing in big games Playing Ramsey on the wing still doesn't work Ozil was beyond dreadful We still don't have the mentality of champions Why the **** did Bendtner come on?
at least we are still in just the right place to take a big dump on the bin dippers, i feel a bowel movement coming on now actually .
Yeah, Cazorla was poor. Sadly, Rosicky was not fit, so could not take his place. We missed his energy.
Yes I agree with the posts. Man Utd wanted it more which is worrying for arsenal. Still top of the league though but I think Man Utd are the better team this year.
Too much negativity on here. We just made the reigning champions play like a mid-table team at home, giving up 60%+ possession and trying to catch us on the break or from a set-piece. The fact that they managed to pull it off this time is, yes, well-played to them, but this is not the dominant United of old, nor is it anything much for them to celebrate. Our rivals by and large have not profited from the loss, and after a hard night in Europe, I don't think this is a disaster. The press are going to claim that this shows United are back in the title hunt, but the manner of their victory shows anything but to me. We were the better team all over the field, and that with many players carrying minor knocks and missing our defensive general. If there was any way to lose in a positive way, this was it.
That is why I said the priority for January should be a winger. Playing traditionally central players on the wings has worked pretty well with other teams, but I knew that once it doesn't work we'll be hopeless with no plan B. Very slow rotations from defense to attack.
Well I'm glad we made more of a game of it in the second half....it wasn't a one nil hammering. We were far too timid in the first half. But the main thing is Giroud is a good second striker not as good as Judas or Rooney....we lack teeth against a well organised defence....too dependant on opposition making mistake.
I feel bad for Giroud though he's having to do everything. We need another quality CF. (I guess we should'nt forget we have Podolski to come back). Bendtner is a Championship quality striker at best.
We used to do the possession bit against ManU and Chelsea for years, and still drop 3 points. I don't see why you consider that a positive change, when A) it's nothing new, and B) we still lost all 3 points. The only positive change was that we didn't panic like usual once behind, but tactical naivety isn't a positive.
Ah Bollocks to that Amazing how open the game became when Gnarby came on, shows how important it is to have width in a team, no point having all those passy players if we don`t have an outlet, otherwise the centre just gets stacked. Need to become more clinical, stop trying to pass it into the back of the net (think we`ve all said that before), to be honest, shows why despite his massive improvement and good general play, we do need a goalscorer to compliment giroud
I don't think we were the better side, honestly. We had a lot of possession but they have the clinical forward and did not even have to play particularly well to beat us. If we had someone like Cavani or Lewandowski we'd have got something out of this game. Kudos to United, they got their tactics spot on, as usual and deserved their victory. We haven't overcome our mental hurdle at this ground sadly. Gonna take time.
Are you ****ing kidding me? We were gutless, we were toothless, the best way to lose is not to lose at all, there is no "best way to lose." Losing is losing. We should be ashamed of our attacking play today.
