Stoke have had 2 shtos, Swansea 9. 0% conversion rate for us. 100% for them. Says it all doesn't it? NOT CLINICAL ENOUGH.
Stoke have had two luck breaks and scored from them. We've created chances but need to star burying them. Games there still to be won, just need to be more direct now with our attacking. I'd also get the boys to get some boots that actually make them stand up. Oh and will Chico STOP ****ing around with the play acting, it's pis5ing me off now.
No luck in those two goals. I saw lots of will and power - they wanted to score. We just play and play and play.
to me this looks like a team that has relelgation fighters written all over it . the only problem with that statement is the fact we don't look to have many fighters !! Leon playing really well, lost us the ball for the goal aside is playing like a captain. Ive been on about Chico and Davies for a while now and yet again a soft goal comes because they are crap at defending, say what you like about taylor but id have him in the team before davies, not because he is goos going forward but because he knows how to actually fooking defend !! Ive been biting my tounge for a while RE our play and from what ive been told privately there are going to be big problems if this carries on . Bony is trying hard and working his nuts off lamah is doing fine . JDG , hmm, well you all know I rate him but he was totally responsible for not following Ireland in for the second goal, he is having no impact . time to bring on shelvey but it looks like its tie to circle the wagons folks, its gonna be a long hard season with our prem status on the line. time to **** euro off and concentrate on the bread and butter ,we are obviously not good enough to fight a battle on two fronts 45 mins of hopes and dreams remain, time to see if our boys have the balls required
On Ireland's goal both Britton and JDG stopped run and jogged as Ireland shifted a gear and went into our box. Both of them watched it happen. This is the epitome of the way we play. One gear, one style, mediocre tempo. There is nothing about this Stoke side that is any way good enough to beat us if we shifted a gear and played at a higher temp. Bony is tired. At the end of that half, when Routs crossed in from the right, Bony was still jogging to the edge of the box - nowhere near where he should have been to be a threat. Whatever the "special program" is, it hasn't had any effect yet. He doesn't have the skill and speed to beat players with the ball. He couldn't even beat their keeper or caused enough of a problem to pull a penalty - as the last man he could have just pushed it passed him and gone. On the positive side, Lamah! His first Prem game in forever and he's not looking that bad. Glad I'm not paying to watch this.
This isn't to do with Europa League, this is just carelessness. Chico and Davies should be dropped so they finally know they are not indispensable and that we have two players who are waiting to replace them, I want to see Taylor and Amat next game so it makes the other two try harder to stay in the starting team.
Yes he made a total meal of it and, yes, according to the letter of the law, Ireland should have been sent off irrespective of Flores' reaction. The rules are quite clear on this. Contact made from a raised hand is a red card no matter how soft the touch. I've seen players sent off for just threatening to do it. It would have been soft but intent is enough and the rules are the rules - except, it seems, when we are playing.
Agree somewhat but Ash was out of position after being off the field. Ben slipped so Walters went past him. This left Chico trying to cover at an angle. He couldn't risk going flat out for the ball because it was easy to mistime it. If he had, it would probably have been a penalty AND a red card. He relied on Tremmel who was easily beaten - ironic because that was the type of situation where Vorm is far better than him.
