"but you cant support something if we are rubbish" Wow. Sorry Dai but that's ridiculous and I'm sure you didn't mean it that way. A supporter can be unhappy with his team and with the performances he sees. Many choose to show that by booing after the final whistle. Some don't. But the true supporter still supports through good and bad.
I've heard some booing and I don't like it. However, I've always had good reason to think it's aimed at a different facet of the game than our players. Bad refereeing or a player that should have been sent off, for example. I only ask for 100% effort in every game. If we can't do that, it's the Manager's fault because he is in charge of team motivation. If we get beat by one of teams around/below us and we've put in 100%, and I mean every player, it's still the manager who gets the blame because of the setup that day. If we play Arsenal when they're firing on all cylinders, we can put in our 100% in and we'd stand a good chance of losing because we can't match them for quality. Then it's just football. I don't see how booing is in any way useful, helpful, supportive or specifically informing any one player or the manager that you aren't happy without demoralising the whole squad. Please do not boo. (Rant over)
I agree with that. I can think of only one time I've ever done it and that was in a game at the Vetch years ago that we were winning 2-0 at half time. Every single player slacked off second half and we lost 2-3. I was disgusted and let the buggers know. But in those days I remember the team getting booed at half time if it was nil nil on a regular basis. How was that supposed to motivate them? I agree shaper. Generally I don't think booing helps and certainly doesn't support the team. Anyway, let's hope we get none of that rubbish today, that we see lots of endeavour and a Bony hat trick.
I better be careful and make sure the date is correct before I say anything else but I have a good feeling for "today"... Failiure to take 3pts will probably set the clock ticking behind the scences, hopefully the players really understand the importance of getting 3 pts today,im sure they do but considering stoke are desperate for points too it could be a tense game. Our support will be important hopefully the fans will be patient if things don't go great, c'mon the swans! Lets get that performance "today"
A win today will be a big lift to us fans and the team if not we had better buy em a bus to park until they rediscover their winning ways again. I think we've had years of success and glory after the dark days but you need to experience the lows to appreciate the highs sometimes. Stoke are do-able if the team tired or not can just switch on for the full 90 we can win it. Now with injuries and a small squad is the time the players and especially the manager will test their metal and see what their really made of ! Keep the ball on the ground and move it fast against these tough cookies, they have a few giraffes compared to our short arses, so our wingers who are crap at crossing wont need to lift the ball they can come inside more and pass it into the box at low level. They don't like our quick ball game running at em using the short triangles we just need the forwards to find space for the final ball and Bobs your aunties husband. Temel in goal for his size and command of his area is needed and if he regains earlier form he could be number 1 as Vorms gone of the boil . Swans win 2 - 0
Nice to see positive comments here. Daiswan, you are a disgrace to say"you cant support something if we are rubbish" that explains why you are a Liverpool fan and not a Swans fan I know that sometimes players are supposed to inspire fans but today I feel the support must be there for the players, maybe they need that little boost to the confidence ? If feel some fans have the "entertain me" approach and we have lost that edge and cup final feel whn ever we have a prem game, far too many fans seem to think we desrve prem football, that is the road to ruin im afraid to say, I feel that a lot of our supporters are becoming complacent nowadays , maybe some of the players too ? Whatever, it is important we stand together to support the boys no matter what, the prem league is really tight this year and there is no doubt we are in a fight for our survival,as we are every year, the sooner we get back to that mentality the better. Hoping for a good showing with the supporters getting right behind the boys
If we don't get three points today, I have it on very good authority, that Laudrup will be in trouble, the board are fed up with some of his decision making, not least playing players that are carrying injury too. On top of that they are not happy with the lack of use of one of the most expensive investments made on the playing field at Swansea, and it's time that Laudrup got off his arse and motivated the team!................... PS: I'm not going to predict this one, but it had better be a win for Laudrup's sake!..............
Good post there Norway. The problem is you can get too used to entertaining football and doing rather well. But you have to stay grounded, remember where you've come from and keep it all in perspective. And stay optimistic at all times, even when you know you're kidding yourself A close win for the Swans today (i'll take a big win though!)
Tremmel, Rangel, Chico, Williams (c), Davies, Britton, de Guzman, Pozuelo, Lamah, Routledge, Bony. Interesting. Lamah deserves a start after Thursday. Glad to see he's put out a very strong side. Subs: Zabret, Amat, Taylor, Shelvey, Dyer, Canas, Vazquez.
Given the way the results are going today - 3 points is becoming a must. Would have liked more of a stronger presence in midfield - still don't understand playing JDG in the hope of the one ball.
Lamah and Poz combined so well on Thurs that they deserve another shot together. Routs preferred over Dyer. Dyer is not going to like that, hopefully when he comes on he will be fired up. A good line-up. BTW - Sunderland defeat City. Ki doing very well.
It does that on occassion, I hope you win today (even though you go above us) but I think Stoke will struggle all season. Enjoy, I'm going to watch the Man Utd v Arsenal game
