I've been baffled by the tactics in recent weeks so I am not going to bother repeating myself on it, other than to say AVB simply hasn't learnt a thing this season.

But I just cannot understand some of the decisions in recent weeks regarding players. Eriksen I thought was extremely poor in midweek and was amazed when he started. Lamela played well in midweek and doesn't get a kick today. Similarly Siggy has been one of our most likely goal threats this season, yet when Lennon was fit again he's straight back in the starting eleven. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Slow sloppy passing (again) . Too many touches per player before passing.
If AVB cannot read the riot act to his player and make it stick, he has serious problems.

Completely disagree, we were well worth the three points. It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to work out that Spurs' midfield is a shambles, their striker is utterly hopeless and ill-suited in this league, and playing the exact tactics we did would result in a tight game with a one-goal winner. Law of averages says it would go against Spurs sometime. They aren't a class above anyone, they've bought a load of overpriced individuals who don't resemble anything approaching a team.

I've decided that I'm not wasting 2 hours of my Sunday's watching us anymore, until the football improves. It sounds terrible I know.
However, I don't watch shows like Eastenders because I think they're ****. Watching Tottenham is also ****.

I don't care if we get beaten, I've watched us win nothing for years. However, we've always been entertaining and exciting and that's why i support spurs. I can't believe what's happened to us. I'm so bored. The life has been sucked out of us, and that I can't deal with any longer.

I'm ****ing sick of seeing AVB play the same system with players who are out of form/ not up to par.

Sigurdsson is nothing more than a sub. he offers us nothing over a 90 min game, making us have no balance or threat down 1 side of the pitch. how can we set ourselves up to have no threat down 50% of the pitch??!!! I forget he's on the field most of the time. He's a total waste of our left hand side. he's had long enough to show what he's capable of, and during almost all of his time with spurs, he's been nothing but mediocre.

Townsend is a greedy **** whose been overrated by the media. That performance from him today was very immature and resembled that of a 13 year old boy playing in grassroots football. Selfish, selfish, selfish.

Soldado... well... I don't know what to say. It's not working for him. Undeniably a quality striker to have the record he has, but we've got a potential major flop on our hands as we're doing just about everything we can to make him look crap. - And when he tries to get involved, he's completely out of his comfort zone in what he's having to do to get the ball, that it's just not working out for him. I have a feeling that we're going to be splashing out on another striker in January to save our bacon. One who is actually suited to playing the Number9 role by himself, as AVB continues his stubborn approach with this system.

even though we're sat with 20 points despite all the changes to our squad, it feels like such a mess.

Fairplay to Newcastle though. They did what you have to do to beat us, and they did it well. Their afternoon was pretty comfortable and Krul was incredible. <ok>

    Rant over.

If we have a bad month seeing the upcoming fixtures, I do wonder if AVB will make it until Xmas, let alone next May!

at WHL. For away PL games, things are better.

And AVB has had the home crowd crap well and truly put to death today.

You lot looked very average today. I have noticed that most of the games you win are thanks to Soldado scoring penalties. You would be around 10th-15th if it werent for this so think yourself lucky. Also I have a question, why buy Lamela and never play him?

Boss, you seem to pick out Eriksen at every opportunity like you've got some personal agenda against me and SOS, just for saying he's decent. Yes, he's been pretty average so far and poor in certain games.

But other than Paulinho (most of the time) and Chiriches, all of our other signings have been crap. Not to mention a large number of players who already played for us.

the constant referrals to Eriksen/Roo/SOS are getting a little boring mate, no offense. <ok>

Delighted with the result as it was a real backs to the wall performance from us with plenty of effort and we were worth our half time lead.

I know it's of no consolation to you but if you take out Krul's performance (it was not far off a once in a life time performance) then on chances created you were worth at least a point second half.

AVB did get it wrong but on another day, against a different keeper you'd have got a point minimum. You just need a couple of tweaks, nothing major (not meant to sound patronising) and you'll be right in the mix for a top four spot come May.

Anyway good luck for the season lads <ok>

Moyes - we ARE very average, we all know we have been lucky with some penalty wins, and only AVB knows why Lamela didn't play today. He hasn't looked good, until Thursday where he played a blinder, and then benched!

LOL... Roo, you should know I'm winding you both up. Just having a laugh.

But my point about signing players from Holland stands, I said that before we signed Eriksen.

Eriksen is a talented player but nor he, Holtby or Paulinho can pass or control the ball better then Tommy Carroll.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas:"We gave the first half advantage to Newcastle but I thought we were very very unlucky, we had so many good chances, the result was very unfair."Newcastle came in strong and played well first half, they deserved the lead. We did not recognise ourselves, we were not on top of our game, and it was not our better first half."Tim Krul did well today, last season he had a great game against us as well. Today he was the inspiration, he made the difference. With a bit more luck we would have found the finishing touch."

Thing is, as far as creating chances goes, that was one of our very best performances in the league this season. And it was still ****e. Yes Krul made some good saves but we've looked absolutely toothless all season, trust me.
