It would be unfair to single out any player. For being **** and quite a few was. Knockaert, Dyer, King and Nugent was all ineffective. Vardy gave Forest something to think about by simply doing the basics. I thought that game was crying out for Matty James but Nigel brought on Dean Hammond. Next game I would like to see Wood and Vardy start with Drinkwater and James in the middle,

Still Burnley and QPR dropped points so its not the end of the world. We have had a fantastic start and we all would have taken 32 points from 15 games.

Lets recharge the batteries and go again. Worth noting that we have lost all 3 games before an international break this season and have gone on the respond superbly

King and Nuge need dropping - both have been poor this season, Forest had 2 attempts on goal first half and scored twice, if you can't take your chances then you won't score - simples!

... we were sleeping defensively today and got punished ... but it could have been different if we'd taken our chances ... Proud doesn't think it's right to single out one player but unfortunately that is what it comes down to. Doesn't actually give me much satisfaction to say this (again) but David Nugent is not (indeed never has been) clinical enough in front of goal ... should he be dropped after today's performance? ... for me yes... Vardy and Wood should play if fit (on current form) ... or even give Jeff and extended opportunity he has always had a good conversion rate at every level he has played at ...

I can't name you a player who didn't play well.

But I can name you a player that has, on the whole, been utter ****e all season.

His penalties hide his awful form. He needs dropping ASAP. Wood and Vardy against Ipswich please.

That'll be a few more quid on his price tag. At least there is a bit of good news today.

We have just been found out today! we are simply just not as good as we think we are. No idea how to break a defense down, no one who can score,I do not know how you all rate Vardy (I know he was sub) but he will never be a consistent goal scorer at this level .. unless you just want someone who can just get penalties? We will never have a winning midfield while we keep playing King (please somebody tell me what he brings to the side) We have not won one game convincingly. Today we got what we deserved sweet f**k all!

    Why so fickle?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this our best ever start to a season?

"No idea how to break a defence down"... Based on what? The 3 goals we put past Watford? How about the 4 we put past Premier League Fulham?

We had no problem breaking them down today, just poor finishing cost us. We had (at least) 3 glorious chances, and that's not even including the penalty. All of which happened to fall to Nuge.

They scored from their first shot in the game, and then again from their first corner.

A combination of some sloppy defending (still not sure what Kasper was doing for the first), and some very poor finishing resulted in a bad day at the office all round.

We won't win every game, we're still 2nd after 15 games, on more points than first place this time last season.

Disappointed, but it's one game. Moving swiftly on...

    Yes that's exactly what I wrote <doh>

... but back in the real world - the point I was making was that defensively we got caught napping, that can happen ... but if our striker, given chances that most strikers would surely relish had played better / was a more clinical finisher - the game would have had a different complexity ...

AKCJ has a point that Nugent's penalties have actually covered up his being rather inept in front of goal - a prime example outside of yesterday's game was at Watford when at 2-0 up he failed to get a more or less unopposed header on target from the 6 yard line ... not what I expect from a player purporting to be a striker I'm afraid ...

... Jack also makes a good point - they scored with virtually their first attempt (unfortunately that also exemplifies Nugent's problems in front of goal) ...

... and one final thing, being realistically critical of our players displays when warranted does not make anyone 'disloyal' ... it merely shows that we are not actually blinded to the obvious ...

I am not fickle, just not got blue tinted specs on! there is not one outstanding team in this league. been to every home game and had a squeaky bum in all of them for the last 10 mins. Our 2nd half performance was nothing short of disgraceful. I am entitled to my opinion, and i am still waiting to hear what King brings to the side.

Wel said FF - some players need dropping as they seem to be complacent - automatically picked on reputation so hopefully a spell on the sidelines will get that desire/commitment back.

You hear all the time from Alan Young and Ian Stringer about King doing "the ugly stuff".

Well to me, that is part of a central midfielders game. For months I have been saying Andy King goes missing for large portions of the game and as a central midfielder, you simply can't do that.

Yesterday, Danny Drinkwater was always wanting the ball, but again, King was nowhere to be seen.

Next time, I encourage you all (even if you do go the game) listen to the live commentary on Radio Leicester and see how many times Andy Kings name is mentioned. As someone who should be at the heart of our moves, he should be mentioned every couple of minutes, not about half a dozen times in the 90 minutes!

Not trying to start an argument jamba, maybe fickle wasn't the right word.

Just one game doesn't make us a bad team. It was a bad game all round, I agree with you.

But we've hardly fluked our way to 2nd in the league, we've played some good football at times.

There isn't one outstanding team in this league, but there wasn't last season either. We don't need to be outstanding and win every game to win the league. Cardiff and Hull hardly set the world alight in terms of performance. But they got the results. And look how both are doing now...

    Newsflash. Were 2nd

We have been superb this season. Yesterday we was bad draw a line under it and move on. Every team has bad days

When we slumped last season I was calm and looked at the bigger picture. This season I have remained level headed and not got carried away. 1 game changes nothing

Only Burnley are doing better then us so we cant be that bad. Dont over analyse 1 game

Proud there is merit in a lot of the things you say but you do have a tendency to exaggerate ... we have not IMHO been 'superb' this season ... we have been effective ... for me our best display was against Watford, by a country mile, ... but I share Jamba's views in terms of bum twitching as we try to hold on to a one goal lead ... 'superb' by my definition is entering the last ten minutes of a game not being concerned if the opposition gets one because the game is comfortably won already ... which on many occasions it should have been ... OK don't hang on one game but yesterday's game was symptomatic of our performances this season (and last to some extent) 3 times as many goal efforts as the opposition but fewer on target ... and this time it cost us big time in what, for many of us old 'die hards' is the one game that we never want to lose...

    Yep.

We went from 2nd to 7th and relied on a last minute winner to get into the playoffs that we lost in.

Probably the biggest **** up in English Football last season.

You must be watching a different team to me Proud, although I have only missed the Yeovil game this season - fickle fan that I am!

Fact is we've ground results out, Watford away was the best we've played and had Deeney scored that open goal chance then it might have been a different result. The last 10-15 minutes of most of the games this season I've bitten my nails down to stumps! Due to not being confident in us closing the game out, losing yesterday will have hopefully been a blessing in disguise and bring some fans and possibly players back to ground. Forest did a job on us yesterday and took their chances - we weren't good enough to take ours hence people saying the side needs changing, King has been woeful this season and as Jambawamba has asked 'what does he offer the team?' - wimping out of tackles, being bypassed by the opposition midfield, passes the ball sideways or backwards is what he's offered in my eyes, this defensive midfield role NP has him playing is not for Kingy, Nugent is struggling for form so start with Wood/Vardy and play king as a sub up front because defensive midfielder he isn't!
