Completely agree Roo. It's so obvious. And yes you can blame the players as well but ultimately the manager sets the team up and gets as much out of the team as he can and he is not doing that. Because we do have good players it makes it probably the most frustrating Spurs team to watch in my lifetime and that is really saying something.
Well this board's going to be fun during the international break! Villas-Boas got it all wrong from the start and we paid the price for it. Really strange decisions all round and he should've changed it earlier. Lamela plays well, then doesn't feature at all. No holding player and Eriksen starts instead of Holtby, so our advanced midfielder's not pressuring, either. Friedel starts and we stick with the high line. Sigurdsson does nothing and yet plays most of the game. No width and no attempt to add any. Poor day at the office, to say the least. Credit to Newcastle for doing what was required. Krul made a number of good saves, though he clearly needs to work on his distribution, petty as that may sound given his performance. Gouffran worked his arse off and his absence at the end was easy to see. Obertan came on and didn't try half as hard. Pardew will be very happy with his players over the past two games.
Apparently better than Ozil - load of bollocks! Why oh why didn't Lamela get a start after Thursdays performance.
You guys have been very unlucky today. By rights you should have won this easily. Sometimes keepers can have inspired games and today was one of those days. You will still finish top four. You guys are a class above.
Its too risky buying players from the dutch league, its far too hit and miss. People look at the great signings like VDV, Suarez etc and think the league has great attacking talent. Eriksen may well be talented but he is too far away from a level to perform every week and apart from his performance agaisnt Norwich, has been a real let down. (sorry roo and sos)
Jermain Defoe made only 2 successful passes and failed to have a shot after coming on in the 69th minute
Well played to Alan, a good spot. Well played Castle... give it a go and were a tad lucky but played well.
Which is why he shouldn't have come on in the first place and why we need another option up front on the bench, be it Kane or Adebayor. Defoe and Soldado is never going to work as a pairing and I think there's been some questions raised about the former's attitude in recent weeks. Vertonghen snapping at him when they ran into each other wasn't a good sign, for me.
Eriksens biggest cock up was taking two touches when one was more than enough. Should have scored. Why give the keeper time to adjust? Looked more like a Bentley than a Rolls Royce today. A David Bentley.
Holy bloody Christ! Jimmy Greaves....please turn up for training we need you.At your age your still better than what we've got!!!!!
