Well deserved victory for Southampton today - an excellent performance. One of the things we love about Steve Bruce is he's always honest and gives credit where it's due without fail. Smashing bloke!

In my opinion Wanyama is a very useful player and deservedly in the first team. But on the other hand, Cork looks so much better in possesion of the ball, I wish Pochettino would swap him with Wanyama when we're chasing a lead.

I slightly fear the return of Rabbit to dine at the table of Big Vic's misery (where is he by the way? He didn't get banned or something, did he?) It was Vic's mistake ultimately, but as has been said as nauseum, he's 22. He'll learn.
We won it's not like his mistake cost us the game. Just enjoy that we won instead of being moany bitches.
I think it's kind of similar to that Wanyama/Clyne debate after the United game when on the face of it Vic looked like he had just had a complete brain freeze and not tracked Evra, but when inspected more closely you could very justifiably place the blame at Nathaniel's door as in our system Evra was his man. Again, on the face of it you could question Artur not just knocking it up field, but I would suggest that he did exactly as Mauricio would want him to. It's something we do on a regular basis and a central midfielder dropping back into the centre of defence to receive the ball is a staple of the split CBs play-from-the-back style that many top sides and ourselves under Poche utilise. Sure Vic has pressure following him, but he also has a very simple first time pass available which Artur was shouting and indicating for him to take, if he makes that pass Jose has room to make an easy pass to one of the other available midfielders, and those two players that have come out of position to press Vic along with the two forward players have been taken out of the game and in a sequence of three quick, easy passes we have just played the ball out into midfield with a little bit more room to work with and a man advantage. You take the rough with the smooth, and with both our fairly complicated high-risk defensive set-up and our Kenyan wrecking ball you have plenty of smooth (Although there was quite a lot of rough from Vic today).
Right on! This time last year we'd made about 25 itsy bitsy mistakes at the back. Anyone notice we scored 4 good goals today!!!!!
Wanyama or Boruc, it doesn't really matter, because we had controlled the game up to then. Although we wobbled for 10 minutes after that, they only had one more serious shot and we picked it up again, whereas last season those incidents were costing us two points each time (Norwich/Swansea home). Would rather focus on Lallana's incredible performance anyway. I wonder if Hodgson had a chat with him and the other two post match, we know that his cap is a certainty now. Curtis Davies was bloody lucky not to be sent off by the way, a less experienced ref would certainly have walked him for gobbing off.
I swear Cork made the same mistake against Sunderland, it just didn't cost us a goal? Wanyama is a lot better than Cork. I love Jack, but we're playing the right guy.
Good. That wouldn't be right. I hope that he might come back and say "you know what, I was completely wrong about JWP" but we'll see. It's actually really quite nice being wrong when it's to the benefit of the team!
He did indeed. I was distinctly unimpressed with Cork in midweek. Ponderous, and made some poor decisions. Yeah I get the 'he needs time' argument, but you get your chances like that and have to take them. Wanyama is the right man for the job.
If he had of scored that second one I probably would have exploded, in every sense of the word. I also thought Rickie was downright fantastic today too, although he didn't get many (any?) opportunities to notch from open play he was on top form in terms of his build-up, and of course dutifully hammered home his penalty.
