After Mary Queen of Scots I'm moving on to 'Cromwell, Our Chief of Men' from the same author.

I'll be back on the book club thread around Christmas with my observations .........

Evening, fellow book enthusiasts. I can heartily recommend "Agincourt" by Juliet Barker. Best history book ever written IMHO...

Steven Hunter's Bob Lee Swagger series.
Just finished "Time to Hunt" last night and it's my second time reading it.
Never has the weight and shape of a bullet been more interesting. :)

I don't think any City fan believed we wouldn't be involved in anything other than a relegation scrap.

    If they did, they're deluded.

That's a shame, Terry Pratchett really sees life in a very clear way. I'd make him Prime minister.

I know what you mean mate.

We made a decision, last year, to give our sons their inheritance now rather than when we can't see them enjoy it.
So we gave them deposits for their first houses and other help. (The 3 of them are in my avatar photo.)

When I look at my bank balance I wonder what the hell I've done <laugh>

I love reading, tried to get into them and failed.

Mind it took me 4 attempts to get through Solzhenisens (Sp) books I only went back and read them after seeing the Tom Courtney film of One Day In the Life.
