    English teams were really running rampant in the competition back then, from 2005-2009 English teams were some of the strongest in the competition. Back then if you were an English team that wanted to win the thing, you were most likely going to have to go through another English team!

    Of course :). But how can a defeat and being out of the COC be seen as a victory? An advantage of playing fewer matches may be :confused:

    some finals English clubs have managed.

    in a way its a shame its still not the big 4 in the CL, as it made the comp more interesting than it is now, but maybe City will sort it out one day.

    Yeah. We've got a tiny squad due to injuries, so losing was actually a godsend, we play less matches now because of that.

    Football is about winning trophies. Arsenal haven't won anything for seven seasons and its going to a hard task to win the PL or CL. I understand you putting a positive spin on going out the CC but surely you didn't want that to happen prior to KO against Chelsea?

    This is why I hated when we were in the Europa the past few seasons and people wanted no part of it..... why? A chance to win a euro trophy, to be seen around the world, and puts the name of the club back out there. Winning things whether it is COC, FA, EUropa, CL, PL breeds a winning mentality, instead of "oh well, we didn't want it anyway".
