Yes we have. We've been ****ing atrocious. That first half hour at Chelsea was better than this. Steve Bruce is the **** responsible for this. What a mind boggling, ridiculous starting line up he chose.
Of course he'll have done his homework. Football isn't all about tactics. In any game both teams will have a plan but only one can work as intended. In this game whatever our plan is it obviously isn't working. Based on how good we've been until now, I'd say that's because Southampton are bloody good.
Isn't it possible that Southampton are just a better team? It's not like we're giving the ball away or making mistakes (Harper aside), they're hassling us, giving us no time on the ball and stretching the defence. We just can't get the ball off them; that doesn't make us ****, it just makes them better than us. You aren't giving the opposition any credit.
I had a bad feeling about this game, not sure why. I think Bruce needs to change it around, and fast! No way should we have sat back against a team that like to pressurise so much - should have been focussed around passing and keeping the ball - something we're actually good at when we're set up in a way that allows us to use our passing game.
