    Norway bankrupt ??? ....<laugh>

It has at least a trillion dollars in the bank and growing, in the top 5 richest countries in the world per capit gdp.

The shame of it all was that this is how our own north sea oil fund should have been used .

Greenpeace cant really do anything, only people like yourself in vast numbers can do anything and that would mean going away from all the things people love to have, and nobody really wants to do that do they ?

you all have blood on your hands my as well accept the good life and stop being a hypocrite <ok>

I am aware Norway is rich, but it is solely down to oil. Without it Norway would massively struggle to maintain it's current living standards, whatever it has in cash reserves would quickly disappear. But as I said in my first post Greenpeace could do a lot if only they used their brains for once.

As an avid Motorsport fan and also an avid enthuast of science I would fully support a move away from oil because petrol, diesel, ethanol etc. are terribly inefficient. Electric motors are currently the ultimate source of torque and horse power. The only problem is a Motorsport based on electric motors that had time to mature like F1 could produce vehicles that produce enough instantaneous force tear muscle from the face upon acceleration so they'd be far more restricted than the current 104RON/Ethanol mixture combustion engines currently in use.

I have no issues with change, I am sort of annoyed it is isn't happening fast enough and I am contributing to it by continuing to buy petrol but there is no electric motor alternative due to chronic underfunding and lack of sustained research/political will.

What did the human species do before oil? What will it do after oil? Is it the panacea for life and happiness? <laugh>

Do not really like the idea of bringing up political cases in a football (Swansea) forum.

Greenpeace broke the law as they have done alots of times. They should have been arrested and kicked out of Russia.

The point is they go around saying this is bad that is bad, they do this whilst on that little ship of theirs, which I am guessing doesn't run on wind and solar power. They get off on land, they jump in their cars, they go home, turn on the lights, turn on the pc to go tell the world what they are doing, may even pop the kettle on for a nice brew, might even put on the heating if its a bit chilly out. Pull out some food from the freezer, a chicken portion maybe?

Its not to do with that they have done it in the past, its the point that they are still using these products whilst saying we are harming the planet.

I mean DPJ said he is a member of Greenpeace right? So is it wrong for us to destroy the world using oil based products, or is it better for him to be using his PC?

For me, Norway is right, if your going to fight for something, then prove how much it means to you. If I want to stop all abuse on a forums, I wouldn't expect to carry on abusing whilst I am fighting for that goal. So why do they still use oil based products, whilst tying to stop us using them? Its what many would call being a hypocrite. Hence why I have no time for the likes of greenpeace.

If I was fighting that cause, I would not be running a car, I would not be using electricity unless I had my own little wind farm out back. Else what am I fighting for exactly?

Your suggestion is excellent but wouldn't appeal to the attention seeking wanna be James Bonds who are attracted to groups like Greenpeace because they consider themselves 'warriors' who are morally superior to others.

I believe their aims are laudable but get annoyed at the bleating by individuals when one of their pranks is taken seriously by the countries they are offending and local laws apply. Do it - accept the consequences or don't do it. Having been involved in protest groups in the past, my view was I had to accept the consequences of my actions. However, I quickly saw the people getting in trouble weren't the ones with organising the events.

It's virtually impossible to live without using oil products so according to your "logic" no-one can criticise the oil industry

Are you smoking drugs or something ?

Nowhere on this thread did I say that , feel free to invent a scenario if you wish though <ok>

I think I have answered many questions here but not had hardly any of mine answered(I wonder why)

like bob the slob says , if you cant do the time don't do the crime, bleeding hearts all scared because they;ve ended up in a Russian prison where the government there has decide to piss on them from a great height, quite funny actually ,shame they didn't think about that sooner..<laugh>

So you're happy for the oil industry to desecrate the planet in the search for oil?

Whilst I use a car, then I have not much choice but to get on with it. If I want to complain about them drilling for oil, I would be sure to sell my car first, same as I wouldn't be going around in guzzler of a ship.

Or would you prefer me to be a hypocrite and continue using the luxuries that oil based products provide, yet complain my arse off about it whilst doing so?

So are you happy for them to be hypocrites?

No. You use the resources available to you at the present - but if the search for those resources reaches unacceptable levels - then you bloody well stop! Nothing ****ing hypocritical about that. The greed of multi national corporations and their need to provide an acceptable dividend to oil company shareholders is what drives the effing oil industries. Get a grip for ****s sake.
