I think it is pretty much unanimous amongst most football fans that 2pts per game is CL form - with 76 pts the aim for us atm. To keep track of our progress I have created this table using an idea taken from the Liverpool board, of breaking games up into groups of four. This makes it easier to asses our form in stages. please log in to view this image *Note - for the equivalent scores* Cardiff = Wigan Hull City = Reading Crystal Palace = QPR I will keep updating this as the season continues.... I once read that when planning for the League, Sir Alex would look for 100 goals in his team. So here is a table to show how close we are to that (though I'm not expecting anything like 100 at the moment) please log in to view this image And here is a comparison of our recent managers.... please log in to view this image (NOTE) I have not checked the data for anyone before AVB - Spursguru is not accountable for arguments lost in pub debates due to incorrect match stats or winning percentages! (If anyone would like any graphs etc. then I can add these if you supply me with the data.) COYS
And the stats also show a PL side that finishes on at least 76 pts will have to achieve or or both of the following : 1. GD in the 30s 2. Concede less than 40 goals Doing well on #2. But well off the trail for #1.
I guess i've just become so accustomed to us stealing your transfer targets, that this just seemed normal...
I might not be so happy if you nick our top 4 spot though! You guys are looking good atm. (aside from that full back, and the CB you bought who look like they are taking some time to settle)
3 of the last 5 away...not nice ones either. Villa at home on the last day isn't too bad though, as I'm fairly confident everything will go to the wire again.
This site http://stats.footballpredictions.net/england/premier/2012-2013/index.html lists all the final standings since the premier league started and shows the points/per game of every team. Norwich City somehow managed 72 points in 1992/93 with a -4 goal difference!
Beware the Ides of March according to Shakespeare, be good if the goons signed Julio Caesar Et tu Sandro, then I shall die.
It and blocks 3-4 are the toughest ones. That's why Sunday is so important: the one fixture out of the four starting with Everton away where we have a good history. We really need a win.
If anything, it's the Ides of April you should worry about, given the following all happened on that date: * RMS Titanic sinks * Hillsbrough * Abraham Lincoln died * Tianamen Square protests begin * Boston bombing * Joey Ramone dies * Black Friday * The Blitz kills over a thousand people in Belfast * Jeffrey Archer born * The first McDonalds opens * Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 * General Electric formed by that charlatain Thomas Edison * Arthur Lowe dies * Kenneth Williams dies * Clement Freud dies * Seth Rogan born * Emma Thompson born * Emma Watson born
