He can go for me , as much as i appriciate what hes done for us , hes a luxury in a team trying to go forward, too lazy to play in a 4 man midfield and not enough on the ball class up top or off the striker
scores goals granted but if we want to go anywhere he has no place in the starting 11

Martin Jol should have him as he should of been our manager when we sacked Chris. Thats by the by. Anyway, I can see us selling Nobby for the right price, everyone has a price with Ashley in charge.

  9. He's not lazy at all. He works his tits off, and is in better shape than most people think he is. He's not the best pace-wise, but he works extremely hard and deserves a knighthood for his work for us in the last 2 years.

You've a strange way of voicing your thoughts with others opinions.

Please stop being such a cock and insulting people for having alternate views.

Would rather keep Barton than Nolan if I am honest.

  14. Well he shouldn't disrespect Nolan like that, who's been amazing for us in the last 2 years by calling him lazy and just a luxury when he's really been our most vital player since we went down. I'm sorry if it sounded a little harsh, but no one disrespects Nolan like that and gets away with it.

If Barton stays like he says he will, I would snap Fulhams hands off for 6 mil. Unfortunately I cant see Nolan making our starting team next year. With Tiote and Cabaye likely being in the centre aswell as Barton and Gosling also fighting it out for a position. Maybe it is also time to free up some spaces for the young ones to come through like Vuckic and Donaldson.

Haha he is lazy though ... if you say he isnt you need to move your hands away from your eyes when watching the toon. Just said i appriciate what hes done for us , but if your telling me (all theoritical of course) that nolan could fit in when weve got HBA tiote Barton (if he stays) Cabaye Gervinho then your kidding yourself

Yeah hes scored goals i appricate that and dne really well for us , but in terms of a player that can move us forward im sorry but he is not that

No offence, but you're the one who needs to get real here. The man is completely right, Nolan's performances in the centre of midfield are never anything other than woeful. He is behind the pace and barely gets a touch. He's good in the box but if we let him sign a new contract and his ability there goes too we're left with dead wood. Likewise, if we're only planning on playing him up top or in behind there's better, younger, fitter options out there.

I love Nolan but for the right fee he should be let go if we want to move forward in this league. Would love to have him back in some sort of coaching role when he retires though.

Jol is a long-term admirer of Nolan, and can offer the goal-scoring midfielder the lure of top-flight football.

errr, WTF? I'm pretty sure Nolan is already playing top-flight football.
    stupid article.

  20. You seem to forget that Barton can choose to stay but only for 1 more year mate. Last time i looked Barton only scored 4 goals in the PL last season, Nolan scored 13 goals and was our top scorer!

Nolan deserves to stay simply because of his goals and because he's the most worthy captain we have. If we lose Nolan and Barton our dressing room will lose a massive chunk of it.
