Arsenal and Spurs are effectively forced to sell when bigger clubs come in for their stars. Real Madrid are not. They chose to sell Ozil while buying Isco and keeping Modric. And I can't agree with your assertion that some crazy statistic like number of assists proves a player should be in the World team. But I'd never accuse you of not being too bright just because you disagree with me.

yeah its just a crazy statistic...but its a statistic about tangible quality , you dont get such a stat by fluke .

and then theres Bale , the most expensive player in the world ...thats a bollox stat , its a stat showing the greed of one club and the stupidity of another .

Now THAT is a crazy statistic. <rofl>

Ashley Young - fine but what's he got do do with Spurs' penalties this season: and you won't find any instance of Bale winning a Spurs penalty by cheating

so are you saying we are the greedy club cos we got £85m for Bale...if so should we have refused to accept that much and let him go cheaper?
or are you saying that we are the stupid club cos we sold Bale for £85m...if so does that mean we didn't get enough for him?

You're stupid for 1) selling him when he was clearly the player making you go places 2) for using that huge amount of money and buying for the most part, good players, not world class quality in the likes of Ozil etc. 3) on a personal note, you're stupid for supporting Spurs, come support the real team, Arsenal, and your sins shall be forgiven, it will be like a baptism, with a dove coming in from the sky, and you will be unblemished again, like a new born baby.

Greed because at the right price you will ship off your best player for decades.

Stupidity because they will pay any money to get him .

    whats to understand ?

We got £85m for a player who wanted to go to Real Madrid and had given us a few good seasons ... I can live with us being stupid!
We bought "for the most part good players"...I can live with us being stupid!

I have supported spurs since I was 7 (my mothers violent **** of a husband was a liverpool fan, but my cousins lived in Wood Green and I used to escape there some weeks and my heart was won by their Tottenham supporting street)... I remember being relegated when I was 9 or 10. I followed us on the radio every week from then on and I remember us winning 9-0 v Bristol Rovers in the old 2nd Division. ... I remember losing 5 nil at home to you and 7 nil away to Liverpool after we won promotion.I remember my first match which was the 81 semi final replay at Highbury and I remember my visits to the Lane from 81 onwards.
I've seen us battered and bruised... I've seen us flowing and beautiful and I have seen us being complete **** but tottenham I was, Tottenham I am and Tottenham I always will be....

That's my long winded way of saying...I am used to being stupid <laugh>

Got to say in the last conversation (not sure about general) Powerspurs comes of as a reasonable person making very reasonable points. Where as gunerballright mate you are sounding like an over the top crazy. I don't see why you are getting antaganoised over reasonable points raised by powerspurs.

I agree with him that Ozil is not a shoe in a World XI - the only 2 I would say that were are Ronaldo and Messi then personal taste plays a factor - that doesn't make Ozil any less WC (something he doesn't say anyway). The pasting you are giving him over the Bale deal is weird as well. We have sold are best players for a variety of reasons just as they have -

That is also one of the most reasonable things said about are clubs. I get the rivalry between clubs and how it blinds people - but when someone comes in and makes reasonable points I dont see the point in hostility. Football fans are so hypocritical because of their fanaticism it is beyond ridiculous. So many interesting debates are ruined by the my dad could beat up your dad mentality.

Any club would do this (bar Messi and Ronaldo) - if someone bid 85mn for anyone in our team I would take the deal 99/100 times.

my eldest turns 16 in 12 days and my youngest is 11 soon...I went back to working with primary aged kids in school two years back (I stopped so I could bring up my own kids) so I now spend most days doing something like painting, reading stories, drawing, playing sports etc...and I get paid for it...win win!

thankfully I am a teaching assistant so I just work with the kids...help them in class, give extra support to kids with their reading writing and maths and get to do cool things with them...badly paid but great fun...and non of that government bollocks of reports, markings, streaming, judging and failing the poor little sods!

oh...and stop bragging about the weather...it's been **** here all afternoon and evening!
