JAY in the England squad!

And they try to tell us there is no big club bias...

United should have 1 player, possibly 2 in the squad.

Brilliant to see a (no offense meant) 'smaller' club up near the top of that table.

 

None taken. I compiled it for that reason: beyond Norwich/Celtic supplying keepers, the squad is derived from just eight teams, all with multiple players...the seven everyone would expect, plus suddenly-in-favour Saints.

 

Great guy and good luck had a quick chat to him in Winchester very polite young man.

Guest on Sky said this morning that the FA commission should have someone from the Saints Academy on it as we have English players coming out of our ears.

 

Its amazing to think, and not beyond the realms of possibility, that there could be an England team with 6 Southampton players in it at some point in the future. Clyne, Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Rodriguez and Lambert. I would have added Cork to that list at the start of the season but regrettably for him that looks increasingly unlikely.

I certainly wouldn't put a bet on it ever happening but it wouldn't be the worst team England ever put out!

 

And Shilton, Danny Wallace and Mark Wright all started that game with Wallace scoring. Lets hope for the same
