Not really following you here. At first you said their partnership didn't work last season, now you appear to be saying they didn't actually play together all that much anyway. My memory is that Carra came in as a regular about half way through because we lacked a bit of leadership at the back. My memory also is that Skrtel and Agger played well together the season before, though I can't remember how many games they played. Didn't Skrtel get LFC player of the year award that season? I'm too idle to do any actual research. Also, Kenny was in charge during 11/12 season, not Woy.
I said the partnership didn't work last season whereas you claimed it worked the season before. I don't agree because that was under Woy (where I was wrong as it was Kenny) where we were very defensive. You brought up the issue of the number of games they played, that has no relevance in my point since they don't have to have played together for thirty games to be able to see it doesn't work. My memory tells me that we were a lot better defensively once Carragher replace Skrtel too.
Anyone on here that doesn't know this already doesn't deserve respect PS...Skrtel is very good in the middle of a three but poor in a two IMO. Unfortunately, I also think three at the back is a poor system too.
If Liverpool don't win this they don't deserve top four. We beat Fulham comfortably and didn't even turn up, they're awful this season and a relegation contender for sure. Liverpool 5-0 Fulham Unfortunately for Fulham I actually think the movement of "SAS" will be too much for their ageing defence and midfield. Hopefully they recover though, Premier League needs Fulham IMO.
Agree on the first point. I'd add more to it as well. We weren't great last weekend and need to get straight back on the horse (so to speak). A big win and even better a draw with United and Arsenal means the damage is restricted. A poor result and we go into the international break on a bit of a downer. As for 5-0 I know we are capable and if we play well it's a definite possibility. To be honest as much as I like Fulham (and I love Craven Cottage as a classic English ground) they are stuck in that position where they seem to only be able to take things to a certain level. They never really cracked on from the UEFA run as much as they should have.
I'm actually feeling pretty confident about this one, I reckon its going to be a three or four nil job. However, usually when I feel confident we **** up! PS...wheres the prediction league?
I was thinking exactly those things this afternoon...(except with apostrophes)....not that there's much point looking at the table this week as I had us down to win 12-0 on Saturday
Putting personal gain before the team. Shame on you. Seriously, many said that the Arsenal game would show whether or not we are genuine top four material, but I think this game is a better yardstick. We could have done better, and I'm disappointed that we didn't, but there's no shame in losing to the league leaders at their gaff when they're on a roll. To bounce back after that and put in a confident, winning performance against a team we would expect to beat (no disrespect to Fulham), would show that we have real intent and the potential to stay up there. What we don't need is a stuttering, nervous display. We'll obviously lose games over the course of a season, so we need to make sure we get straight back to winning ways.
I just can't bring myself to vote for a defeat, no matter what my head says. If our reserves were playing the Spanish national team I'd still vote for them scraping a win.
this is probably accurate. fulham are bad and bad on the road but i think they won't go down. we should win it at home if we want progression. most of all we need a reaction from the loss to arsenal. there must be a more than first 10 mins type reaction
Gerrard to be rested please. Hendo, Lucas and Coutinho in midfield. And a start for Agger. Dont care whether its 433 or 352 as long as i get the above please
