You must be an expert on flying so I'll take your word for it.

Has he done anything other than his recent big score in the current warm-up? Genuine question as I haven't really been paying attention.

Any decision other than that would be lunacy, based on what they've shown so far. There is one more four day warm up match before battle commences, so it's all about that I guess.
Carberry to open, Root back at 6?

he's been knocking on the door for a while. i think root has generally suffered for being at the top of the order but if he were picked at say 6, i think that would give us a terrific batting line up

Carbs could play at 6,if we wanted to keep Root at 2.

Either way our batting looks really strong.

Can't see anything but a series win for us.<party>

I'd like to see Carberry open, he's seemingly better against the variation currently, I really think root will be a fantastic cricketer and in years to come will be set as our opener, a bit more time at 5 or 6 really won't do him any harm, it will allow him to play with more freedom, but also gives us the best way to play 2 good batsmen. I think I's play

    Cook
    Carberry
    Trott
    Peitersen
    Bell
    Root
    Prior
    Broad
    Swann
    Finn/Tremlett
    Anderson

Can't decide between Finn or Tremlett at the moment both would no doubt step up very well though

I think Rankin will get the nod as third seamer Bath but agree with the rest of your team.

Agree with bath's team seems best for now, although would love to see finn bowl. I know he can be expensive but he just seems to have 'it' and by 'it' I mean a knack of getting wickets regardless. A bit like holt had a knack of getting goals some don't know how had to put a finger on it sometimes but he found a way, like finn. Don't forget before he was dropped in aus last time out he was our leading wicket taker... Although tremlett came in and did a great job!

If cook and trott show up again I can't see anything other than an england easy series win, not much threat in the aussies line up, all ifs and buts that have to come off simultaneously at the moment.

I'm generally leaning towards Tremlett actually most because of how well he bowled in Australia 3 years ago, took 17 at an average of 23.4. that said he's not been excellent recently and did very much struggle in the last warm up match. Whoever take that 3rd seamer spot you can pretty much guarantee they will be 6'7" tall.
