..according to Five Live at this late/early hour. That should be about 1.6 million for Baz's back pocket.
...enough for another DG and another DC (for example); loads and loads of decent frees available. I think the wages MM is allowed to spend will be more critical. I'd rather have an extra £5k a week for 2 players for 2 years than spend a million in transfer fees.
Agrre Harrow, the key these days (for us at least) is wages. There will a lot of players released this summer and available on a free, but wages will be the stiking point. Also, I understand that we will get a percentage of the profit made on AY. The fugure being touted a few months ago was that it needed to be in the region of £20m for us to get £1m.
It's 15% on profit. AY went for (I think) about £9.6m, so for us to get a Million out of it, he would need to go for about £16.5m. I've heard him going for £16m and also £20m, so not sure which really... but either and it's a good amount for the club, which I hope Malky get's to see. There are plenty of 'frees' about, but no doubt we will have to pay a signing-on fee for them to pick Watford over other clubs - so although this won't be as much as a transfer fee, it will still be significant! I'm confident that if Malky get's half a million, he can strengthen the team well enough for us to survive, and hopefully be comfortable in mid-table!
Well thanks to our academy we get a good bit of income. We sold Ashley for around 8 million if I remember and now an extra little bit. £10 million for Ashley Young for us is nothing to turn our noses up at. And frankly, I'm excited to see him at United and for the commentators to mention "Watford" on MOTD every so often
Excellent news when it is completed ,which according to my Man U fan No1 son will be soon! I am also hoping Malky sees the majority of this as it should not have been factored into the budget!
Basically take £10m off whatever he's sold for, add half and then divide by 10. Making sell on clauses easy Rumour has it the price is £16m although we'll not know for sure for a while, in which case £6m -> £9m -> £900k. Nothing to be scoffed at, right there. We could buy 18 Don Cowies.
The club's official twitter feed (@wfcbadgemoose) confirmed a few days ago that the 15% is on anything above £9.65m. Given that the press figures on transfers to Manchester United are usually spot on, there will be should no doubt about how much we receive once the move is official. Although I doubt we will be able to officially announce that figure, unless United give us permission.
Ashley going on Holiday Villa and Man u have agreed a fee everything will be signed up when Ash comes back off holiday/honeymoon! in 7 -10 days time On sky news now!
Ash has now agreed terms; http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11677_6979494,00.html Let's hope it is for £20m, with about £1.5m coming our way... can send us Weimann too if they want
Thats great news for the club, now that Bassini has gone public and stated that Malky will get some of the money from the Buckley and Graham transfers and maybe some of this. We can re-invest this money and hopefully improve the ground and the squad.
If the £20m figure is true, Villa will be making a profit of around £9m, after our cut has been deducted. O'Neill was laughed at for his business acumen at the time, but they sure as hell won't be making a profit of £9m on Darren Bent.
If nothing else it would allow us to pay more in terms of wages for players who might be free transfers and got offers from other clubs like Taylor and this Conway chap. Hopefully Malky will spend it wisely..bit like Aidy in the Pre-season of our promotion season..rather than post Premiership!
