If true and that 11.7 mil is his worth that has shown how far his stock has fallen. I believe just a few years ago we were talking about 30 million. Now the new gun is Quintero, the colombian with a sweet left foot, who is now the 30 million man. Wouldn't mind taking a punt for Jackson Martinez either.

pounds, Euros is what 15 or something the like? American currency that is like 100 billion.

Would be a good option. I would have no problems at all if we got Cabaye, Iturbe, and a DM ( Gonalons, M'vila, Yacob, etc).

    Example of just one team:

#Porto Helton, Danilo, Mangala, Alex Sandro, Otamendi, Gonzalez, Josue, Fernando, Defour, Martinez, Varela

    I would take:
Danilo or Alex Sandro ( both LB/RB)
We are set at CB but Mangala and Otamendi are good ( Otamendi classic Argie bargie and Mangala the new French sensation and keeping Sakho on the bench of the FFF).
    Fernando ( solid DM)
Defour ( went under the radar but a very good ball playing CM, belgian)
Martinez ( gets goals, pace, power, can play anywhere across the line).

I thought Salah was going to be another MOTD fans favourite after one good game but he looks sharp and dangerous every time I've watched him in the CL the last year. Could be a nice bargain, he wouldn't cost too much coming from Basel unlike if he played for Porto, for example. Wouldn't complain. Pacey wide forward option.

    Iturbe I know nothing about.

Cabaye would be brilliant. He's basically the player I wanted Allen to be; a classy midfielder who gets up and creates or can sit deep and pass the ball around whilst chipping in with some goals. If he's going for an alright price, we should be looking at him.

Cabaye would be a top signing for you.

    Maybe another quick-ish forward?

Salah is a very solid player but if we want another attacker on the wings, then we should be looking at Konoplyanka - this lad has potential to become world class. Amazingly quick feet, balanced, extremely fast - that's WITH the ball as well. Absolutely ripped Kyle Walker when Ukraine played England.

Kono would pretty much complete our attacking trio. Just need Rodgers to work on that midfield and fullbacks <ok>

Salah and Sergi Roberto yes - would be very good signings.

Think Barca would be mad to let SR go, especially if they might lose Montoya too - their fans seem to take so much pride in La Masia.

Konoplyanka looks the real deal, yes.

For the here and now I'd add Banega.

I don't know too much about Sergi Roberto - what position does he play? I am a bit sceptical considering he is valued at around £17m??

EDIT: Banega is the ball playing type of midfielder we need. But first and foremost, we need a DM.

Sporting Lisbon have placed a £6m price-tag on Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham target Diego Capel. [Express]

Should have been bought back when he was at sevilla!!!! HIm and Navas were awesome on the wings, supplying Luis Fabiano back then.

I think Capel would be a good signing for that price, hes still pretty young at 25 but has a lot of experience for someone that age.

Manchester City are considering a bid for FC Groningen's Richairo Zivkovic, 17, who has been dubbed the "new Arjen Robben". [Mirror]

I ****ING hate that "the new _____" so stupid, no one is like someone else, may have attributes the same but if this kid is a winger...... of course he has attributes like Robben ffs!!!

CM, good on the ball, tidy passer... Barca DNA basically. Think he can play deeper or the traditional CM role. Only watched him in a few matches.

Strong rumours that were are definitely interested in Nemanja Matic of Benfica. Napoli are also interested but we would have to meet his £28m minimum fee clause.

I would be amazed if we could pull this off but what a signing on intent this would be.

Furthermore, the same applies to Fernando Reges of Porto.

    Two very good signings.

It's steep but the guy is top class - I would put him in the same group as Torres and Suarez, very good players with the potential to become world class given the platform.

Box to box player, reads the game, strong, physical, can tackle, quick feet, can run with the ball, intelligent, great technical ability - pretty much a complete midfielder. <ok>

Sounds like a player we could most definitely use. Surely we could get someone similar for cheaper though?

Either way - it looks like we'll be getting (or targeting at least) a very good DM in January.

Possibly - personally, I would like M'Vila who would cost around £15m. Fernando would be the cheapest because I believe his contract is running out.

But in terms of ability, I would rank them as follows:

    1) Matic
    2) M'Vila
    3) Fernando

However, I'll be happy with either one of them.

    Winger options....

Ayew wants out of Marseille, claims to be an LFC fan, think that is worth a punt but.....

Pedro and Christian Tello don't get a kick these days, would love to see one of those two ( especially pedro) make the jump over. Would be a big move.
