Not that easy to tell on a live stream but defending has been pretty awful tonight. The difference between this back four and the first team is that their tackles don't clear the lines, and that leaves men out of position. That said maya looked ok ish and chambers looks quite good.

 

Please tell me you didn't just make the genuinely/generally mistake... I will be losing my hair if so!

There's no more chance of getting injured in a cup game than a league game. If a first teamer picks up an injury than that's life. One of Lambert or Osvaldo should have been in the squad tonight. Putting teams out like this is saying that we're too good for the league cup. So ****ing arrogant. We've treated this cup less seriously than Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool and that has pissed me right off.

Rodriguez has scored as many as Lambert and more than Osvaldo.

Osvaldo isn't ready yet, he's still got to return to full training (which is planned for tomorrow).

Rickie could've been involved but needs managing, he said he struggled/struggles with the pressing style at times and 3 games in a week would not have been good, in my opinion.

 

I've kept out of this until now but, please, grow up.

Well Sunderland have lost 2 players to injury in this game. I'm sure given the choice they'd rather have them 'risked' in a game of stature in the league, than in the cup.

 

What, even a 10-15 minute cameo?

 

We don't need to buy that Swedish defender, our current back-ups are just as good.

 

Equally I'd FAR rather bloody youngsters like Reed and Gallagher in games like this than in the league.

I'm not quite sure that's true. Chelsea made 10 changes for their cup game, the only difference is their bench is worth about 200 milion
