Nice to see you still use oz instead of the infidel metric measures. Perhaps someone should set up the EU of Oceania and all these unique and interesting cultural differences can be obliterated by unelected meddling bureaucrats
They do use both unfortunately, although in my experience many of the younger generations stick to the 'old ways' & give the snail-munchers'-metric-measuring system the flick.... What is it about the metric system that people so dislike? It's clearer, much easier to use and to be taught. Virtually every person under the age of 40 knows the metric system and has little idea of the imperial. My son is staggered that metres and kilometers, litres etc. have not replaced miles, yards, chains, furlongs, poles, perches etc. It is not a "cultural difference" any more. If it was we would still be using pounds,shillings and pence - not to mention groats. As Peter Griffin would say, it really grinds my gears - get with the freaking program.
Perhaps we could ship all the Eurocrats off to Oz as we did with sheep-stealers and purse cutters - in fact if we rolled them up with the contents of bandit central and shipped them off, what a wonderful place we would have! PLUS - we would get a few good criketers coming the other way to challenge the sarfers for a place on the England team! When you think about it this country had one of the earliest metric systems with having 10 months - it was the the bloody Romans that changed it to 12! Bloody Romans, what did they ever do for us eh!

Sorry w_y, that is simply not true. The ancient Babylonians had a calendar of 12 months long before the Romans and before the Greeks who both adopted it. You are confused by the naming of the months (September to December as 7th to 10th month). This is because the Roman year (also the Mediaeval year) began in March not January.
Mere striplings those Babylonians - the Sumerians had a 12 month calendar around 2000 years before them. Mind you, they both pale in comparison to the Scots. The oldest known 12 month calendar was found here in Aberdeenshire during excavations at Crathes Castle near Banchory in 2004 - it's believed to pre-date the previous oldest by around 5000 years.
My brother lives in Banchory...we should probably ask OFH, he has most likely got the oldest calendar!
