Views on him now? I personally don't like him, I believe he wants the best but I don't trust him still over the whole Hughton saga. His management is ok, but I just don't like him as a person and doubt I ever will.

What are your thoughts on him?

Cant really complain to be fair. The sacking of Hughton will never be justified, but Pardew's not done anything wrong IMO.

He seems a nice bloke but my gut feel is that he's being micro managed so much... He's effectively MAs puppet/PR man.. This transfer window will go a long way to confirming that...

    I'm going with this too.

I know we don't really know much of him outside of interviews, but in the interviews I think he's come across as an alright bloke. Maybe says too much - but better than not enough I suppose. Looked generally warn out and deflated after the AC saga. Not done anything drastically wrong as Smudger said.

Still think there's not enough time to base my judgement on. Ask me again in December.

Pardew speaks sense most interviews, something which can't be said of most PremierLeague managers (Martinez, Wenger, SAF, Dalglish, Mancini, etc all speak with sense while A Grant and Steve Jean most definately don't)

hughton losing his job cant really be blamed on pardew, IMO i've got nowt against him. he's come in and really tried. this transfer window shall show us what kind of team he is capable of putting out and how they perform under his instruction

Didn't like the way the CH deal was done and Pardew knew about it from the start. One manager stabbing another in the back.

How? We've always known there was to be a press conference tomorow and hopefully it will be cleared up.

I can't see what he did wrong?! If someone came up to me and asked me to be manager of somewhere I would say yes. Even if there was a manager already there and I had to wait for them to sack them I'd still say yes.

I think as a manager he is quite good, his subs aren't too bad, the side sort of picks itself and to play Colo in centre mid one game was baffling but otherwise he's done well.

The one thing that does annoy me is how much he likes to hear himself talk, yes I do want to hear news when there is some but why keep on saying the same things, if there's nothing new to say then don't say anything.

All in all I hope he stays for a good couple of years to get some more stability in the club. He seems to know what he wants and hopefully he'll get us there.

I'm sorry, but it's only just begun... no one else has really done much in the transfer market yet.

So far, if the Cabaye rumours are true, then he's turning out to be capable indeed. Naylor too if that happens.

By the way the press conference was just a rumor I think.

We never do press conferences for new signings, as nufcfans pointed out the only one in recent memory was Owen. There never was one today, he isnt even back at work until tomorrow. We'll have a much better idea of him by the end of the year.

This sums up my thoughts nicely.

I sometimes wonder whether he says too much because he's overcompensating for an owner who says too little?

In Footballing terms he's a good manager whose never really had as good a team as newcastle to manage, so next season will be interesting in terms of how he deals

In personality terms, he is never going to beat the nicest man in football Hughton (taking the post from the late Sir Bobby). Pardew seems to me to be an honest bloke who wants what's best for the club.

OK, not too bad but he speaks FAR too much, sometimes I wish he would just shut the hell up.
