Erm, yes. Are you honestly suggesting if it doesnt lead to a goal then a striker cant do something brilliant? I mean, that dummy by Pele vs Uruguay was ****e wasnt it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UzRsvCsC4c And if anyone on here isnt likely to show a British player bias then I'm up there with them. Im constantly ribbed for my preference to all things non-British!
But you're polishing a turd!!! and I can't believe you've just compared his "stunning run" vs newcastle to PELE We can both rewatch all the games we've played and I'm pretty confident that his movement or touches had no bearing on the result and the goals we scored. When I see him play it feels like we could have achieved the same result with 10 men. I guess the one positive is that he keeps one defender busy. It really just feels like you've lowered your standards and expectations specifically for him and no other Hull city striker ever. 0 goals 0 assist in 20 games is unacceptable at this level surely? or do his stunning runs warrant a starting place and 12k a week salary?
Im not polishing anything. I said he's playing well enough, I didnt say he was suddenley a world beater.
I think there's three types of goalscorers: 1) Shyte ones that never seem to score above a certain Level (Chamakh, Altidore, Anichebe) 2) Excellent ones that just seem to score wherever they are and at whatever level (Aguero, SUarez, Rooney) 3) Good strikers that can score at any level but who suffer from drops in form (Torres, Giroud, Cisse) I think Graham falls into the last category. The question is how long can we afford to wait for his goal-scoring touch to return?
Rhodes will not be sold in January, according to Blackburn... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/9010993/
It's no excuse, I manage to get to games. I think the real reason is he's a premier league bandwagoner and can't get tickets due to not going to enough matches.
That completely contradicts what Shaw said at the weekend when he said the situation couldn't carry on.
I don't think we can. We're into the 2nd quarter of the season and you want to be as high as you can at the halfway point. We can't do that if each player isn't doing their job. He might get one or two but with his confidence levels, how long is that going to take? 2 games? 8 games? To play in almost every PL game so far and not score is ridiculous. I don't recall him scoring in pre season either (happily corrected if wrong, he might've signed after we'd played all our pre season games). Yannick Sagbo just seems to bring more to the table; he looks better on the ball (he has a trick or two in him) he puts more pressure on defenders and is a threat in the six yard box.
So he did. Even so, he's a big bag of nope at the moment. If Gedo's match fit, he should be taking Graham's place until he's up to speed.
But Graham wouldn't be able to get 'up to speed' because he isn't in the first squad... It's a vicious circle.
Well I meant his goalscoring ability more than anything, there isn't much wrong with the rest of his game. Although I think the not scoring is starting to get to him, in the last few games he played his body language suggested he was a bit fed up.
**** it then, let's sign him up, and if he's any good install Febbos as our Chief Scout for the whole of Scandinavia. What have we got to lose?
I recommended him as soon as last season finished, but it's not a competition for props. In any case, he's well worth signing, it's just whether we can tempt him across in favour of other clubs.
This is the most important part of this post. Put simply that statistic is not one of a player in a slump, it's of a player not up to this league & probably why Sunderland let him out on loan IF we can end the loan in January then I think that's the best option
