Wow!! Thats quite an achievement for a midweek game!! Just shows what can be achieved with reasonable pricing and free transport. Glad I got my application in early!!
Any ideas when we'll find out if the application's been succesful, or will all that applied get one without a lottery?
I suspect we'll sell out Palace(the home end anyway), but I'd expect Southampton to be about 1,000 as it's a hell of a drive. Saints and Cardiff are likely to be amongst our lowest aways, and Swansea's going to be the lowest of all, as it's now midweek and televised.
I agree, i was just being hopeful. I'll be disappointed though if Palace isn't sold out. It's miles bigger than the Liverpool match.
Very nervous now, hope they look at my home address as Sydney, Australia when judging whether to give me tickets and not my record of attending games so far this season! Oh and I'll be at Swansea away to help boost the numbers.
Your best bet is writing to the club, mentioning how far you're coming from, and appealing to their sentimental nature/ability to recognise a positive PR move. It's worked for Firthy in the past.
I know someone who said they have had their confirmation already. hopefully I will be put out of my misery sooner.
The ticket office email operator is really short with me - I dunno whether it's because I've emailed semi-regularly over the last four months or what - but I don't see any favours coming from there! Another bloke I've been emailing who was always very keen to help has gone quiet in the last few weeks despite offering to set me up with tickets to all away games while I was over, so not sure what's going on there, but I'll keep trying.
