so what pub are we all meeting at before the game? We can talk about anyone who isn't there, and how they aren't a real fan.
Its not acceptable when they come back to life and moan about not being able to get Man Utd tickets. And from looking at some of the fans in Chapel End for a match against a "big team", the lack of movement or sound they make could well be explained by being dead.
I personally think if you don't have a Saints tattoo, a team shirt pre 2009 and a season ticket in the Northam, you might as well not call yourself a fan.
I tried to get three seats together as I fancied taking my kids along, the only place in the entire stadium with anything other than single seats was block 19 in Chapel, if that is anything to go on, looking like it should be a sell out.
No, its continuing the question of... why is it when we are having such a great season, that we are not selling out home games? Especially when we often got larger attendances in the Championship? For me, I think Price is the top reason, but its one that the club will certainly not admit to, and even fans seem reluctant to say cost of tickets, listing other excuses ahead of it. It also definitely puts pay to the "lets extend St Mary's debate".
Well yes, that's something worth debating. You original post was more than a veiled nod toward people being fairweather fans though, which has previously (not you specifically, but whenever that gets debated) tended to descend into a tiresome display of willy-waving. However, I am very surprised we don't sell out home games at the moment. I'm not however surprised that more people would choose to come and see a game against Manchester City than Hull. That's just the nature of the beast.
Talking of the prices of tickets, I am watching Sky Sports build up for the CL game and they have done a piece about Dortmond and their fantastic fans. A season ticket costs €240 which includes ALL home games! You can choice to go into a standing area and you can even have a pint of wonderful German beer whilst watching....no wonder they have massive noises crowds
It is strange that we are not selling out for home games, must be the money I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when we were having a good old time with Strachan, didn't we sell out home games then? No way I can remember the ticket prices from then, but would be interesting comparison bearing in mind people are feeling the pinch now.
between Northam and Northam/Kingsland corner theres only 44 tickets left....too lazy to check rest of stadium
Actually, I think you have to own the Saints Onesie to be a true fan. I know I shall be wearing mine to all games in future.
