So, exactly as predicted, after a couple more weeks of poor performances Moyes' desperation has grown to the stage where he is now condoning Young's diving. Add in his recent embarassing rant about Januzaj needing protection/not needing protection and he is well and truly cracking.

I don't think the performance was particularly poor. The second half was much improved after a very forgettable first half. Kagawa playing in the middle made a difference IMO. RVP on another day could have had a brace (should have had).

As for the kid needing protection, no one who have seen him being kicked and stamped on could possibly disagree. He is physically lightweight and probably needs "bulking up".

I think all this is wishful thinking from some bitter Liverpool fans...

And if Liverpool also scored all the goals we "should have" we would have won the title last year and maybe the year before too.

This was Sociedad, a nothing team currently 7th in a league only slightly more competitive than the SPL. And at home you needed an own goal against them. 1 own goal in 180 minutes of football is the difference is a shocking set of performances. Only 2 shots on target even after being gifted a penalty for a dive.

Anyway all this was to be expected given Moyes has basically zero experience of going to Europe with a team that is aiming to win games.

 

Maybe if they stopped teaching it, it could help stamping it out.
