The fact remains that Lloris was perfectly medically capable of carrying on and was not concussed, which is the primary concern. The right call was made, but perhaps for the wrong reasons, as it should never have been Lloris' decision. Presumably if AVB had foreseen that there would be this (unprecedented) furore over the whole affair he would have pulled Lloris off. I'm the first to blame AVB for a lot of things Spurs related, but this is not his fault in my opinion. That Lloris wasn't removed is down to the fact that the authorities have not given clearer guidelines, or generated greater awareness of the existing guidelines, on the correct procedures to be followed in such an occurrence. Dawson did not help the situation by trying to force Lloris off the pitch when he should have left the decision to the medical professionals.
Sorry mate AVB got it wrong with Lloris. He had a more than decent backup keeper on the bench he could have brought on but decided a guy who got concussed should carry on. My guess is he didn't want to waste a substitute because your team couldn't score for ****. Had you been 1 or 2 goals up then Brad would have been on. As for the medical staff, maybe its time for a change...
Sorry, but you're wrong about this. He was concussed, his teammates described him as 'dazed' and that is a sign of concussion. He wasn't medically fit to carry on and should have been taken off for a proper assessment. Basically Spurs, AVB and your medical team got lucky, but they made a bad call and one which could have had far more serious implications.
Exhibiting one symptom of concussion is not the same as suffering concussion. The scans showed no trauma to the brain, therefore it wan't concussion. If we went round sending every person who was a little confused off for neurological assessment there'd be no one left on this board. The Spurs medical team clearly thought he was capable of continuing after lengthy discussions, if they had genuine concerns he would have been pulled regardless of his desire to continue.
if u show one sympton of concussion, you should be treated as if you have concussion until is it proved otherwise. now the only way to prove concussion is for brain scans, which i'm pretty sure they didn't do in the 10 minutes play was stopped for.
But we know Wenger would never do something stupid like that, he's not that desperate like AVB. What AVB did just reeks of desperation to me, it's really pathetic, it's not even like Friedal is a **** goalkeeper, I think he's a good back up.
Which CL game is everyone watching tonight then? I'm either going for one of the Manchester games or Juventus vs Madrid
I just hope they don't play it too safe and actually play a good game. I'm gonna go with Madrid vs Juventus to start with and see how it goes, might swith to watch one of the manchester teams if either turn out to be decent games.
As Arsenal aren't playing I have absolutely no interest in any of the games being played tonight and consequently will not be watching any of the games on TV
City in cruise mode against CSKA. Sergio Aguero showing why he is the most talented forward in the league this season.
Worth a £45 million bid i reckon. They're nouveua riche, they'll be bored of him soon and want someone else instead.
This is where BT Sport are so far ahead of SKY. When they cover European games, they get European journos who know their stuff as their pundits. Yorke is a useless gimp and no ****s all about about either Madrid or Juve.
