    Mornin Peeps,

With Warnock expecting to miss Saturdays game at Charlton, who thinks we should give Pugh a chance to see what he can do? Personally, I'd rather give a chance to Cuthbert, Dibble or Grub <laugh> (only those of 35 yrs or older would appreciate that one!!!)

Casper Schmeichel is 27 today. What present would you give him, and why?

Strachan has again left McCormack out of the Scotland squad. Is he good enough?

Talking about McCormack. We are just under a third of the way through the season, and he is on 8 goals. Should he hit 26-27 goals by the end of the season?

Who thinks we should give a start to Blackstock?

Morning all. Ross's inconsistency is probably costing him his Scotland place. Personally not expecting a lot from Charlton game. Bit of a bogey team away, coupled with our poor away form, any point at all would be a welcome bonus. I suppose Blackstock starting may depend on fitness levels. McD will have had a full week to assess him.

Morning Eire, agree with McCormacks inconsistency. Think we have lost our last 5 away matches. We are due a win...

    Morning twatettes

Elland I love your optimism mate, but if Ross scores in every other game he will end up with 23 goals. That would be a fantastic result for him because we aint had anyone capable of clearing 20 goals since the 2 B's. It would also get us into the play off positions and thats why I dont think he will. Strachan has other striker options and I'm afraid Ross is down the pecking order behind the likes of Jordan Rhodes and funnily enough a couple of jocks.

We're still in need of a good run of results but our form says not much chance?

Is it just me who doesn't rate Rhodes

Personally if either warnock or Byram aren't fit, I wouldn't be playing 442

Morning all. I think BMD will stick with 352, but we won't see quite as much forward momentum from the WBs as we would have if both Byram and Warnock were there. Given that its an away fixture, I would start with Pugh at LWB because he really hasn't done a lot wrong and his experience will be useful. At RWB, I suspect it will have to be Peltier because I'm not sure who else we could have there. The three CBs will probably be Lees, Pearce and Wooten, although one of them will end up making space for MZ. Talking of which, does anyone know if he's ever played Left or Right back?

Pity Ross didn't make the Scotland squad, but good for us as he'll have a weekend off. So not all bad.

What would I give Kasper Schmeichel for his birthday? A picture of the Glory Glory team with the message of this is what you're mising out on & this is where the current team are headed. Either that, or a box of crisps to make him feel at home!!!

On who should start, close call unless BMD fancies a 433 formation. I suspect though that Ross and Smith will start with Blackstock and Poleo coming off the bench in the 2nd half. Will be a close game, as Charlton don't score that many or concede too many. Think we'll just scrape it 1-0. I'll be going to this if my ticket ever turns up. Who on here is going?

Guys this could turn out to be a good weekend for us if we can do the business down in London. The fixture list has thrown up some belters where top teams are playing each other. I will take a punt and bet that:

    Burnley 36
    Leic 33
    QPR 32
    B/Pool 30
    Read 24
    Forest 24
    Leeds 23

I have Forest down for a draw with Leicester but if the foxes beat them we go above and into the top 6? Ross was gobbing off about the team deffo finishing in the play offs this season, which will make him look silly if we don't. Anything is possible so I'll try and stay Ellandmistic at least until I see how we perform darnsarf

    Morning Boggers,

Why do we call it 352, shouldn't it be 532 as we're playing with two wing backs?

Will be interesting to see Pugh. He doesn't even make our bench.

I'd like to see Poleon go off on loan til January to be honest

    Morning all

I think we will see Pearce covering at LB but I wouldn't be surprised to see Pugh start.

Kasper - I have no hard feelings towards him, he didn't request a move, we cashed in on him

McCormack or Steven Fletcher, Steven Naismith, Jordan Rhodes - Would you swap him for those three in a Leeds shirt?

Ross on 8 one third through, I would say he is ahead of schedule as it would give him 24 goals at the end of the season, I would have taken that at the start.

I would be amazed if it isn't McCormack and Blackstock who start the next game together. Watching the FL72 show the commentator did make a valid point. He felt the size of Smith meant that the opposition were attracted towards him giving Ross more space.

    Morning all <ok>

Agree that it is Roscos inconsistency that keeps him out of the Scotland team, as for his goal scoring for us, until there is serious competition for places he won't have someone nipping at his heels to replace him every Saturday. At the minute I still see him as a pretty much guaranteed start, and I think Smith and Blackstock will jostle for position.

I say give Pugh a shout, White and Taylor are both out on loan and I know Pearce can "do a job" at LB, but how is he going forwards? I know he kind of filled that role after Warnock went off last weekend, but I didn't see any of it. Pugh can and has played at LB and LM so seems like a more natural choice to fill in at LWB?

Do we know Byram will definitely be missing the Charlton game? If so, do we know how long he's out?

It's really a 5-3-2/3-5-2. Kind of fluid like that, 5 at the back when defending, 3 when kicking on and looking to make some more space going forwards. I agree about Poleon now though, he's slipped down the order a little and will benefit from getting game time

The reason why we call it 352 is two-fold; it looks better and more attacking than 532, & the wing backs I believe actually line up at the start in a five man midfield. The logic behind it all is that they're automatically in midfield, but only go into a back 5 if we don't have the ball and are under attack.

On Pugh, for 352 or 532 to work, you need WBs with a fair engine and some sort of attacking nouce as well as an ability to defend. Pugh isn't the best choice, but without White (& Drury/Warnock who are apparently both injured), we don't have too many options. I know we have Charlie Taylor. But if he's going to appear for the first team, better to give him a more genteel introduction at home first.

On Poleon, I doubt there are too manyteams he could go to that would help his development. Maybe a mid table Championship team, but no pint in sending him to a L1 side. Even now, he's way above that level. His only hope at the moment is to come off the bench and make a significant contribution that would cause BMD to have a re-think on his starting team/formation.

Morning guys. I really enjoy the "morning" thread. I don't contribute as I really do not know as much as you regular supporters. It is always an interesting thread to hear all the various views on the club and how it is run.
One thing it does show is the passion felt by our fans for Leeds United. Long may it continue.

My own little contribution is that I think this year will be a "job in hand" that will hopefully bring success next year.

Team building obviously a major factor and we have lacked in the past for a cohesive structure at the club. I think perhaps things are slowly changing for the better with the current set up, but as ever, its money that counts in the end.

As ever as a very old fan I live in hope we are on our way back <cheers>

Not sure what happened here. I hadn't even read this post so not sure how I disliked it!
Perhaps it is dementia. Have some rep by way of apology.

Btw knowing nothing about things is never a reason not to post. The rest of us do it all the time.

Possibly. At this level he is a great goal poacher.

Certainly wouldn't mind having him in our team.
