So Godders poll got me thinking. If you were to read the press, we have Luke Shaw legs and boots above any of our other prospects, but I was wondering, who here is more impressed by the potential of James Ward-Prowse? Then I thought that a poll of just 2 is rather boring, so why not take a look at all our kids (as in 23 and under) and see which of those excites our dedicated readership the most (in terms of their potential and future at the club, rather than any odd way regarding laminated pictures).

Toughie...went for JWP, but so close to Shaw. I think Morgan is our best player at the moment, but no longer think of him as a kid.

Bit "yewtree" calling them "kids" isn't it?

    They are all men.

I see what youre getting at but at this stage of the game I still have shaw ahead of the pack. Ward-hyphen-prowse may have a higher ceiling but for now its mostly potential. Rowed/isgrove look like they may have potential but need to see more. Cropper is American so may be a good keeper! Stevens doesn't look to have progressed the time he has spent here. Gape/seagar are unknown to me.

JWP for me...The best english right foot delivery since Beckham, he can also whip the ball in early without having to beat his man like Becks.

I don't know many people over 25 who would refer to an 18 year old as a man. In the legal sense they are adults but that's about it. JWP seems mature beyond his years so perhaps exclude him from this generalization.

JWP is marginally the best of a very, very good crop at the moment, and one which is probably going to get better and better. I remember a few years ago, someone saying in here (or possibly the old 606) that at best only one player from the academy would make it into the first team. How lucky are we that we currently have four match day squad regulars who are academy graduates, with more on the way?

As a fan looking from the outside, I'd say Ward-Prowse and Shaw are a cut above the rest based on what I've seen.

    JWP probably edges it.

I agree Fran, and the same for big Vic as well. However, when you consider they're only 22/23 they all sit within the "pickable for the Olympics" category of youth.

I think Shaw should be the best of the bunch when all is said of the done, but the one I'm most excited by is JWP as I feel he already adds such a vital dynamic to our team at such a young age, sorry Luke but there's no glory to be had in being a left-back!

I along with many others voted for Luke Shaw and the remainder who voted mainly went for JWP. Isn't it strange how Nathaniel Clyne always seems to slip under the radar?
Possibly our most consistent player this year but never seems to get a mention.
Watched a debate of 'experts' on TV the other day when they were all waxing lyrical about all our younger players but Clyne was not ?even mentioned

I guess its simply because he isn't an academy product and is a little bit older (21?)

Take your point, but Morgan gets plenty of good press, and rightly so.
