Cattermole and Dossena to miss next three games.
Lee Cattermole and Andrea Dossena will each serve a serve a three-match ban following their dismissals at the weekend.
The pair were both sent off within minutes of each other during Sunderland’s 1-0 defeat against Hull City at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

Cattermole was shown a straight red card for a challenge on former Black Cat Ahmed Elmohamady and two minutes later Dossena was dismissed for a foul on ex-Sunderland man David Meyler.

The duo will miss the next two home games as Gus Poyet’s men host Southampton in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night and Manchester City travel to Wearside on Sunday.

They will also miss the trip to the Britannia Stadium to play Stoke City at the end of the month.

Gutted about Catts, Dossena can do one as far as I'm concerned.

Nice to see you back mate by the way. <ok>

    <ok> thanks mate.
I think Bardo will go leftback with Celuskta coming in in the right. Ki or Gards will replace Catts.

Spot on for me that fella. Any news if we're going to appeal Catts red card? The ref did lower the standard himself with the yellow for the brady tackle so there's a chance it could be reduced.

That is if the twats actually view the match.
Rather than see Cattermole's name and just rubber stamp the ref's decision

But it's a hearing, they've got to view the incident and listen to reason and opinion. Doesn't mean they'll take a blind bit of notice though, you're right like.

According to the fail yesterday we are, not sure what the timescales are, i wouldnt bother if it was up to me, gallagher agreed with the sending off, also said brady should have gone, it'll get one of those frivilous whatsits and turn into a 4 game ban imo

A decent poster back on. <bubbly>

TBH, both players want their arse kicking, Hull were beatable with 11 on the pitch.

Both tackles were in an area of the pitch where Hull weren't creating any danger whatsoever.

I'm happy to forget about them both and concentrate on the players we'll have come in.

I suppose Brown is capable of playing at either full back position, or in the middle, so it's just as well he's back.

Surely they couldn't extend the ban in view of the brady incident. It's a genuine appeal. Surely if it fails they'd just uphold the 3 match ban. I'd appeal all day long.

Elmo did make a meal of it as well, he got straight up and conned the ref and there is too much in the game now and mainly against us. And shearer who went missing last week on match of the day 2 after their defeat sits there smirking though out last night and giving his biased opinion on Cattermole.

Well I disagree :p I think he's too slow to play full back. Celutska and Bardo can both play right across the back and have more pace. I agree with playing him cb though, all day long. :D

Gutted about the Catts ban .. we are a better team when he plays - when he is playing and not off down the tunnel that is !

Gus talked about that 2nd half being our best display yet, tactically. Anyone think we might go 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 depending on how you see it? We were 3-4-1 and looked better than 442!!! Also read previously that he stumbled upon brightons successful formation in much the same way.

    Diakite Wes Roberge

    Celutsja Ki Catts Cabral Johns

    Giaccherini
    Fletch

    Altidore reserve striker
    Colback reserve LWB or CM

We have players suited to it IMO. for example jack, Roberge or Dossena could push Johnson for wide left role. Bards, Cuellar are replacements in back 3. 2 up front could include a withdrawn Giaccherini or just fletch plus Altidore or Borini with Giaccherini as a CM or wide right. Gards or Larsson could easily cover celutska/bards on right. Loved the way Wes brown marshalled back 3 on sat. He's the one player we'd struggle without in this shape.

To be fair AJ has come on leaps and bounds defensively. I could be swayed to play this.

    Westie

    Diakite-Wes-Roberge

    Celutsja------Ki------Catts------AJ

    Borini------------Giacc
    Fletch
