I went to the Chelski game and thought it was the quietest game Hazard has had this season and I think full credit has to go the back line but specifically Debuchy. After what can only be described as a Jekyll and hide start to the season the man has been top draw for the past 4 games. I hope this is what we continue to get (granted everyone has a bad day now and then) but if this is the performance and consistency we can get from him then well don sir!
Also well done MYM to come back from the red card against the bin dippers he never gave torres a sniff!

    For me - yes

The last 3-4 games he has played he has looked very good. I believe his run started against Liverpool and since then he has looked the part.

I am saying this because I was very critical of him until recently. He seems to have rolled his sleeves up and got stuck in. The same can be said of Tiote who is looking back to his best again. Nice to see.

It's still early to tell for sure, but I'd like to say YES.

I too have been very critical on here and probably said some fairly horrible things about his ability, which at times were pretty merited.

But yeah he's looked much, much better in recent weeks. Not just his performances but in his demeanor, looks prepared to really fight.

The test for me is if he can suffer setbacks in terms of mistakes put still keep his head up and deliver a strong performance around those.
It has looked like in the past he's made poor decisions to only compound them by sulking a bit.

Full credit to him though, I hold my hands up!

100% yes. Never doubted him. Regardless of what anyone thinks about International caps, you can't be that good, that long for club and country then just forget how to play the game. Had a few shaky games - but tell me a Newcastle right back who hasn't since Barry Venison.

He's one of the best in the league. Engine like a train, takes a hit like a man. Has French tendancies (Liverpool last year) but no worse than Jose Enrique was for us. My hope, and probably Pardew's, is that he's right in his prime and as such no longer a target for other clubs.

Got to admit after the game against Hull I thought what is this player doing in the team, since then I've been very impressed with him, so I'd say yes he has turned a corner.

Seems to have. Not getting skinned for fun and seems to be starting to be more selective in when to attack. Probably a case of HBA being out of the team has helped him too to be honest.

I think it has a lot to do with this. His turnaround has occurred in games where HBA has been on the bench or played centrally rather than in front of Debuchy.

I think it is too early to say. Enrique took his time so settle so I think it's only really fair to judge after at least 12 months in the EPL. The signs are looking good though.
    Fingers crossed.

He's been doing really well the last few games. He looks like he is enjoying it more for a start. Lets hope he keeps it up.

I posted a while ago that some players were being specifically targeted for criticism, Debuchy among others (although that thread was about MYM's alarming drop in form).
I'm not saying that he shouldn't be held accountable for his poor performances, but the man's a French international and part of a title winning team. Between signing for us in January and the end of last season, he put in some performances which really showed his quality and had people raving about him... including on this forum! Then he had some off games. We can speculate all we want, but a good player doesn't turn into a rubbish one overnight. There's always a reason behind it. It's been - and continues to be - a tough period for Newcastle and neither the club's power structure nor the squad harmony are anywhere near where we want it to be. Such circumstances are bound to negatively affect any player.

I'm glad Debuchy has stepped up and showed us all what he's made of when he's on his game. Hopefully this will put to bed any idea that he's somehow not suited for this league. If you manage to silence the attacking power of Chelsea's forward line, then that's all the proof you need. I hope he maintains his form and continues to play to his full potential, but that will of course depend on many other factors, including ones which might not be immediately obvious to us fans. So next time he has a stinker, we should remember his good games too instead of just writing him off. The same can be said for others such as MYM, who I thought put in a pretty solid shift against Chelsea. Let's not forget that even at the start of this season, there were calls for him to permanently take over from Steven Taylor after a string of impressive performances and successive clean sheets. Then he has a couple of bad games, and all his good work is forgotten and he's declared 'unfit' (among more negative adjectives) for this league. The word 'fickle' comes to mind...

He has been playing exceptionally well for the past 3 or 4 games. Shown his class. Not to say anything bad about those who did criticise him (rightfully so, I might add), even though I never felt like being overly critical, but we are really too quick to forget even Colo was piss poor ****e in his first full season. He had me raging as I saw him being burnt by Steven Gerrard in that 5-0 loss.
The same is happening to MYM now. People need to give these proven players(in other leagues) time to adjust.
