He has has trials with a few league clubs since he left us. I believe he was with Shrewsbury most recently. It seems the deal always breaks down because of allegedly high wage demands. He has recently become a father (Alex Pritchard's sister is the mother), so I guess joining a club close to home probably suits at the moment.
See the U18s beat Chelsky 3-2 at the weekend. P9 W8 D0 L1. Looks much like the U21s last season, but with the Spurcat disclaimer about the overall quality of the U18 "South" division this season.
Line-up for our game with Leicester this afternoon Starting XI 1. Jordan Archer 2. Ryan Fredericks 3. Zeki Fryers 4. Milos Veljkovic 5. Dominic Ball 6. Kevin Stewart 7. Kenneth McEvoy 8. Nabil Bentaleb 9. Cameron Lancaster 10. Harry Kane 11. Shaquile Coulthirst Subs 12. Grant Ward 13. Lawrence Vigouroux 14. Ruben Lameiras 15. Darren McQueen 16. Roman Michael-Percil
I assume Fryers and Kane are getting game time in preparation for being in the Europa squad. But again, the CM seems to be creatively threadbare with all the loan-outs. Was wondering whether there are Carroll/Pritchard equivalents in the U18 ranks who could step up to the U21s.
It was a definite penalty and was indeed a clumsy and mistimed challenge. It gave an experienced Leicester side the initiative and I always felt they had a grip on the game. We had plenty of bright spells but also plenty of huff and puff spells. Considering this was possibly the strongest side we can currently field, I expected a bit more. McEvoy was lively for his brief spell and Kane was less of a threat once McEvoy had been withdrawn. Over the 90 minutes a draw was the fairest result.
Good news for the club and good news for Bentaleb. It's not always the case that all the coaches rate a young player, but they certainly do with Bentaleb.
Good to hear. The few times I've seen him I've been impressed. Given how easy our Europa League group is becoming I really hope we see him and a few others in the under 21s get a little taste of some "first team" football.
We're giving trials to two Danish U17 strikers on the recommendation of cup final winning goalscorer Allan Nielsen. He's acting as their agent though, so I'm not sure how much salt we should take that with. Rumours about Halilovic are ongoing. His dad wants him to play regular first team football, so I'm not sure that'll go anywhere.
The U18s continued their good start to the season with a 2-1 win at Newcastle. A few players were rested too, apparently. Fixture congestion at that level, too.
Something to do with work permits because, even though Croatia are in the EU, UEFA haven't got around to noticing.
At long last, the return of Souleymayne Coulibaly as he bids to kickstart his Tottenham career. Coulibaly is in the 15 man squad for this evenings "home" game with Reading at Bishops Stortford FC. Our squad is Archer, Ball, Bentaleb, Coulibaly, Coulthirst, Fredericks , Gallifuocco, Kane, Lancaster, McEneff, Miles, Ogilvie, Stewart, Veljkovic, Ward.
Now all we need to do is recall Gomelt. Is he really going to boost his chances at Spurs by playing for Royal Antwerp's b-team? And why do I expect this was another one of Sherwood's genius loan moves, like Ryan Mason to Lorient last season?
Couleybayor, Coulebayor !!! Whatever happened with the summer talk of Coulthirst going on loan to the Os ?? Is that one over (judging by their form this season they don't need him) ??
