Me too - The Crafty Butcher last. Hmmmm, first 8 qualify for the final, correct? That tailed off last will do his handicap mark no harm at all.

Redolent of another Irish challenger Rare Bob in the first qualifier at HQ who finished a never nearer seventh to qualify for the final before he has a cut at the GN.

Yep, another hugely successful rule change. How much longer you in Belfast Dex? Hoping to get out there on a wee business trip in January (all the fecking travel budget has been cut this year). Be good to catch up for a pint if possible.

Pipe did say he would need the run, but surelye if he had any hope of a festical win this year he has to improve enormosuly and would hav at least got placed at the very worst even with the all the weight he is was giving surley he had to much class, imo never should have gone chasing!!

With all due respect Barney, you are talking pish! Of course there is a massive difference between having Sir A P McCoy on your horse and the current number 46 Rachael Green, no disrespect to Rachael, Maurice Linehan, Brian Harding and Mark Goldstein but that quartet wouldn't have won on half the horses that AP has lifted home!
The split second decision making on the flat is crucial I agree but more often than not it is luck that gets you a safe passage in a Stewards Cup, Wokingham, Chester Cup or Derby!
Richard Hughes would cack his pants at the sight of The Chair!

Cyc: Nice write-up on MC, many thanks. Hope you are keeping well. My Dandino didn't get a mention in your report, so might as well forget my little wager, LOL! Must try to get up to listen to race, seems so damn early!
